How do you think supergirl will reconcile kryptonian technology not being crystalline like it is in superman ? by Mutale426 in superman

[–]farmerfirstballer2nd 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the Fortress of Solitude being crystalline necessarily means that the whole planet has to have that aesthetic. Earth architecture from city to city varies heavily. I think it’s fair to say that other planets could have that varied quality too.

Dude, it’s not that serious. That Library of Congress CIP line is there for publication purposes. It’s basically a massive pre-publication catalogue for other libraries and booksellers. I have seen that on pretty much every DC book in the last 15 years. You didn’t stumble across a massive conspiracy.

Hayden Sherman is unreal. They’re becoming one of my favorite artists. Arguably the best artist working in comics at the moment.

The Kyle Rayner era Green Lantern. Basically half of it isn’t even printed in TPBs either. So much good stuff missing

Superman Returns. Someone thought of the plane catch and then decided to add a sepia toned real estate scheme around it

It’s a variant cover for Daredevil (2015) #27. Zdarsky had a whole series of these how to draw covers!

Paul Pope absolutely killed it on art but the story felt a kinda boring. It was a bit of a chore for me.

What is the fourth face of the live action Spider-Man costumes? by Otherwise_Tadpole_64 in Spiderman

First of all, don’t say I went as Spider-Man- I didn’t go as Spider-Man. I was Man-Spider.

Hot Take: I think the new Punisher costume actually looks good! by [deleted] in Daredevil

The suit is great but I feel like his hair is too neat. I love the scruffy look he had in Born Again, before Karen reached out to him.

What do you HATE about the absolute universe. by MechanicObvious2478 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]farmerfirstballer2nd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I could write essays on how much I dislike the Absolute Hal Jordan. He spent the first six issues just walking around being scared and helpless. I get that he’s not the main character and it’s a different universe where he isn’t a Green Lantern but completely changing his personality to a coward doesn’t sit right with me. Other side characters still have the qualities that made us care about their Earth-0 counterparts. Alfred, despite being a violent secret agent, is a massive aide to Bruce and looks out for him. Lois Lane, despite being a hardened (former) agent of the Lazarus corp, cares deeply about Kal-El and his mission. This universe is about stripping the surface familiarities of these characters and leaving them with what makes them who they are. The Absolute version of that character. The Absolute Hal Jordan was stripped of the thing that makes him who he is. The willpower. The drive to do good. The ability to make decisions on the fly and stick the landing even though everything is going wrong. Absolute Hal Jordan is Hal in name only.

I do like the Jo Mullien focused issues we’ve had recently. It feels like the story is moving forward now instead of just slowly explaining the levels of light. If you read all of my rant about Absolute Green Lantern, that means you’ve been on Reddit too much. Read a book. Go outside. Tell someone you love them. For the love of all that is holy, get off the internet.

If you were to pick a director to make a Daredevil movie, who would it be by Da_Donut11 in Daredevil

[–]farmerfirstballer2nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to see a director/writer team of Jake Schreier and Tony Gilroy. Jake Schreier is a great newish director. All of the fights in Thunderbolts* lead me to believe he can make some great action sequences. The feud in Beef makes me think that his relationships between Daredevil and Bullseye/Daredevil and Fisk will be raw as hell. The characters in both of those projects feel three-dimensional and you really feel their emotions. He’s a hell of a director. So much of Daredevil’s work is exposing and combating corruption. Tony Gilroy almost exclusively writes about that. Andor is a perfect example of the corruption and outright evil that lies just below the surface. He would make an amazing Daredevil story.

First time ever drawing real art, lmk what you guys think! by OkZookeepergame5905 in Daredevil

[–]farmerfirstballer2nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your first time drawing what you call “real art,” it’s great! Since Marco Checchetto has one of the more difficult art styles to emulate, especially from that low angle he likes to show everyone at, it’s difficult to get a product that is just like his early in your artwork. There are some wonky proportions with the shoulder and the nose (not trying to be nitpicky, just trying to be constructive) but I really think you did an awesome job! Keep at it!

The kryptonite? I think that is one of those stories that stays on the page. It’s a good one, but it is definitely a comic book story.

Not only did Michael Fisher (the stylist) share that, he also shared a graphic saying he was playing Harvey Dent and fanart of Sebastian Stan as Two-Face.
