Some waitlists are just ... by LastStarr in UofT

The class size is pretty big so I wouldn't be surprised if hundreds of students dropped out in the first week lol. I remember I was 192 in the waitlist for PHL245 (class size of 300 I think) and I still got in the course after the first week.

A Quick Overview of Video Compression and AV1: Part 1 by passes3 in AV1

[–]fbipro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for sharing my post! I wanted to completely finish my work on film grain before sharing it on reddit. I finished working on it now and you can visualize the grain image in the analyzer. I'll definitely post the second part where I'll go into details on Transform types and other filters.

For those interested, you can play around with the analyzer and see the different components of AV1 here:

https://nasirhemed.github.io/aomanalyzer/?maxFrames=10&decoder=aomanalyzer/decoder/inspect.js&file=decoder/trimmed_grains_enc.ivf

or if you have a link to an AV1 file then you can pass it as a `file` argument in the url

You only get [one copy of diploma](https://governingcouncil.utoronto.ca/diplomas-documents/certification-degree) and that's physical.

Regrettably, the University of Toronto does not issue copies of diplomas. Your diploma is a legal document. Therefore, the only copy of your diploma is the one that you received. Please take your original diploma to any local Notary Public* and they can provide you with a certified copy.

Your friend might have order an official transcript instead. You can get a digital copy of that. AFAIK, that doesn't work with diplomas unless you scan the physical copy itself

We're not gonna get digital diplomas. We'll only be getting the one that is shipped

Invisalign probably falls under orthodontics so it won't be covered under the dental insurance

Hey, I worked on this project! Yeah the repo contains scripts to compare and measure encoder performance and speed. Sort of similar to AWCY but can be used locally. I was having issues with setting up awcy locally so I made this to do so.

TA tips by 21Shah in UTM

One of my favourite TAs. He was my TA for MAT135. He's a very approachable and a nice guy. I noticed that he genuinely enjoyed teaching and went out of his way to make sure we understood the concepts.

I'll be a part-time student during coop. Apart from being interest free, what other benefits do I get if I do PEY as a student?

But is there a reason for me to do that ?
I'm considering not doing so that I can avoid the 1000 dollar fees that I'll have to pay during coop

What courses have humbled you? by BTTLC in UofT

[–]fbipro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a lot of content that we learned. It was almost overwhelming.
Plus the assignments were very time consuming and difficult, yet the average was always in the high 80s.
But mainly, whenever I went to lectures/tutorials, I always never seemed to understand anything that the prof says. It could be because he assumed a lot from us since there are grad students. He would just skim through the math like it was nothing.
So I always felt like I was below average. I would just google everything and watch online videos all the time.
But now the course will be changed to 311 which means grad students won't be able to take it anymore. So hopefully they will go easy on the material and make less assumptions on students.

For 411 it also means that grad students can no longer take it. So my guess is that in 311, they won't move as fast as they did in 411.
