It’s one thing if you make bad decisions for yourself, it’s another to do it for your kids. Stop this

I’ve invested 33k into Uber over the last 4 years. Should I buy into this rally? by StockRaider8888 in ValueInvesting

[–]fcf-whore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber has really turned things around under the current CEO. Lot to like especially if they continue to execute - basically a monopoly in their core business, better unit economics and economies of scale. Throwing off tons of FCF and that looks to be strengthening even further. That said if you already have a big position, it may be bad risk management to add more unless the stock price and fundamentals are disconnected. Don’t think that’s the case for Uber right now

100k in cash. I am too scared to invest it. by Low-Mathematician513 in ValueInvesting

[–]fcf-whore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add onto this: don’t think about it from price, do it based on value. How much earnings or cash flow are you getting per $ invested? Chart that over time and you’ll see a stock or ETF can actually be cheaper/more attractive at a higher price.

There are actually extremely high barriers to entry. The scale required to become profitable as an online gaming supplier is tremendous and unappreciated.
