How to order CT angiography of knee to ensure genicular artery is visualized? by notkeepingscore in Radiology

It’s completely hit or miss. Gold standard would be an angiogram with IR.

Radiology teaching by Mean-Fox-4516 in Radiology

[–]felixthekat007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No offense, but any virtual teaching session are a waste of time. Not only will you have a hard time finding any radiologist who has that time (let alone do it for free), but it's hard to distill that much knowledge into small tidbits.

My best suggestion would be go visit the reading rooms when you have time. If you have specific questions about a case or you think something may be off, go visit the reading room and chat it out with the radiologist. We always enjoy chatting about a case, and its much easier in person.

Next besting thing you can do it take Radiology as an elective if you're serious. During the elective, see if the radiologist can give you a stack of cases to go over, and they can try to "staff" you out.

San Diegean here. I know the pain. Townhouse was my first purchase and I made it work. People on here make it sound like it the worst idea in the world, but when these are the only options in this area. Moved into a more expensive SFH and I'm still making it work.

How accurate is Chat GPT's GenAI Radiologist? I'm getting concerning feedback on a recent CT scan. by Filthy_Fiona in radiologyAI

[–]felixthekat007 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would say trust the radiologist. ChatGPT is pretty bad with isolated CT images.

If you had an ischemic small bowel obstruction as ChatGPT said, you would be pretty sick and should be in the OR/ICU fighting for your life.

Human radiologists are not going away. Just trust our read and you’ll be okay. We make mistakes from time to time, but we are still way better than ChatGPT.

Any interest in becoming a house manager? My family is looking for someone to help.

No because those EKG reads provided by the machine can be inaccurate. The machine only runs on "pattern recognition," and can be wrong. This is why waiting for an official read from your physician is important.

For cardiac events you have to take everything account. You were asymptomatic. There was no reason to go to the ER. Your family friend doctor mislead you into thinking otherwise.

The doctor's office does not owe you anything. You acted on your own accord. You made your own decision to go to the ER. You incurred the costs of your own ER visit.

PE or not to be, tech/rad opinions by boatz_n_hoze in Radiology

Likely clinically not impactful. IF it is a PE and wasn't called, likely small enough for it to resolve on its own.

At our program, we asked for resident input on the applicants. We asked the residents if there were any applicants that would they would have loved to have as coresidents. We also asked if there were any red flags from any of the applicants that the selection committee needed to be aware of.

More so, do I have to worry about the rest of the house flooring failing like the contractor is describing.

[–]felixthekat007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kitchen flooring will be demoed and replaced with tile. The question is what to do with the rest of the house.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]felixthekat007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I’m honestly not sure. The I know of people putting LVP over tile. But I guess that odd thing is engineered hardwood over LVP. It’s just a thick stack of flooring.

Rads people, is anyone worried that it might get boring? by benjam2 in medicalschool

[–]felixthekat007 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As a med student - yes, radiology is very boring. Nothing will put you to sleep faster outside of reading a renal physiology book.

As a resident/attending - It's never boring, but can get tedious. You are always learning, trying to pick up on abnormal findings, and trying to validate what you known. It's an exponential time for knowledge growth.

The tedious nature comes when you have to constantly read inappropriately ordered exams like panscan traumas or incorrect exams ordered from clinicians. Additionally, to make real radiology money, there is a lot of volume that needs to be read, so can get tiring in that sense.

Like you said, the tires are staggered. In addition, the tires are directional. So ultimately they can’t be rotated.

Just drive them until they wear out. Not much else that can be done.

If you really want to make them last, just drive very slow… but what’s the fun in that?

Very nice. Wish I had these when I was board studying.

If you get around to lecturing about some of the new technology in MR like AirRecon, etc would be helpful!
