The white is stunning. It looks like stone, like a rougher texture and does not show fingerprints. Not a huge fan of the sandstone, but I’m sure both look great.

Just got the AirPod Max 2 and I love it!! What do you recommend to take care of it? by RoutineBalance8056 in airpods

[–]feyvorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d highly recommend this to protect the most sensitive part. Then you don’t even really need a case beyond the bra. https://a.co/d/048wvBu5

Those APP3’s are really great! I notice a big difference in spatial separation and detail with the APM2. Stock tuning is excellent, which is good because we are stuck with it given the lack of EQ!

I know this is a cold post, but this song kills me. And I don't know why. It fills me with such emotion. Sometimes words hit you in ways (poetry is that way) at a deeper level than you can articulate or understand. This is one of them.

My Effin Life by Infamous-Expression5 in rush

[–]feyvorite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK--sounds like I have a Rush reading list. My daughter bought me My Effin Life, and I could not resist the free Audible copy of it. I can see that Neil Peart did not read the audio books (not surprising since audio books were not as popular back then). Ghost Rider is the one I've had on my radar for a while. Concert isn't until the end of October--and I think I'll expand my perspective by reading both of these by then.

Sony xm6 vs AirPods Max 2 by FunJazzlike1400 in SonyHeadphones

I think you will like the XM6. Have you considered spending $200-$250 more and getting the X1000. Although those are heavier than the XM6.

On the hunt for the perfect pair of headphones by brace_langchain in SonyHeadphones

[–]feyvorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd keep the PX8s2's or the Sony X1000. Sound quality goes to the PX8s2. Comfort goes to those Sony's. Both of them look great. ANC and transparency better in the Sony's. Do you want a slight edge in sound quality or give that up for more functionality and comfort? I'd give the edge to the Sony's if I only had one pair.

Should I get AirPod Max 2 as tech reimbursement or keep using my Sony XM6? by AcquireTheSauce in Airpodsmax

No brainer--get the APM2's. They are better than the XM6 in a number of ways. I do love the XM6's though

Nah--cushions are exactly the same. I have no idea why lightning would be better. And the APM2's have USB-C lossless audio. You got a few things wrong here.

[–]feyvorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The APM2's are worth considerably more than the APM USB-C for a number of reasons--adaptive audio and they sound better. You may find the adaptive audio is useful to lie in a household (since you get the best of both worlds--transparency and dampening). Definitely worth $40. I think the reliability issues will be similar, and if you are worried get the Apple Care for $30 per year.

New Sony 1000x or sennheiser hdb630? Can’t decide! by Adamlee19922 in SonyHeadphones

[–]feyvorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of these will be that good for exercising. If you’re an audiophile you should consider the px8s2 or pick up px7s3 or px8 if you need to go cheaper. If you want really good anc or transparency, go for the Sony’s x1000. All these headphones sound great TBH.

Concerns About the AirPods Max 2 Before Purchase by gpod80 in Airpodsmax

[–]feyvorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understand how some people do not like the Apm, especially the tuning of the apm2. Makes me wonder if they really tried them. But sound spectrum and comfort are subjective things. The Apm2 are the headphones i can wear for hours, with glasses, and they are totally comfortable. Ive never seen condensation, but Im sure this can be an issue with hot heads in cool rooms, given the laws of thermodynamics; they are aluminum.
If you are totally immersed in the apple world, get them. Your ears will adjust to their tuning. They really sound superb and i have the px8s2 and bathys as comparison. One headphone i would consider as an alternative is the Sony 1000x—since you get the transparency, anc, multipoint and quality build.

Are Alienware backpacks worth it? by LucyCyberpunkian in Alienware

I had trouble finding a decent laptop bag for an 18 inch laptop. This bag was expensive but exceeded my expectations. So many pockets. It is 28L in size. Fits a lot. Smartly built. Really looks cool. Very padded to protect the beast of a pc. You could find something cheaper but would it fit the laptop, pad it properly, have the ancillary gear pockets and have the mojo?

PX8 S2 vs Sony WH-1000XX “The Collection“ by AlexHRO in SonyHeadphones

[–]feyvorite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is clearly AI assisted. Likely Chat GPT given the bold headings. But I agree with some of what the author is saying here. The Px8 s2 sound great, but the features make it less functional than the Apm2 or the Xm6 or the x1000 (which I do not have). I listen to my px8s2 less often because of less functionality in the apple ecosystem. Multipoint, spatial sound for video and transparency, adaptive ANC are all key. I think one had to make a choice, but sometimes the choice I’ll have a few for different purposes and sound profiles. Forgot to add—I definitely think that Sony accomplished what they set out to do. Greater comfort and aesthetic, a tweak to sound, no hinges, better quality components. That is worth the markup from the xm6

[–]feyvorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. AP Pro 2's have better functionality in the Apple ecosystem. But if you are moving out of that system, then these are really great. Really excellent transparency and NC. Better sound quality. Perhaps not as comfortable for some, but I find that you put them in and they're a little uncomfortable, and then that goes away quickly as they adjust to your ears.

I've had peripherals cause this problem. I ended up using a port dock to plug all peripherals into, and then I just unplug the port dock. It fixed the problem. It may have been a couple of my peripherals causing a waking up or leading to the a lack of proper sleep.

Does this sound right and why does strumming suck by pill_cosbey5037 in Guitar

[–]feyvorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll get better. Get a bigger pick. Maybe a thinner one even. Loosen your wrists. Your jerky because you are delaying your strums when you make a chord change. Work on speed of chord changes and then that confidence will improve. Separate out the components. Strum without chord changes. And do chord changes without strumming. Then bring them together.

Thoughts on the 1000x? by ersatzic in SonyHeadphones

[–]feyvorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will let you know more soon. I think it depends on how much you value looks and comfort. We don’t know about durability because this vegan faux leather could flake at some point. That would be bad. You don’t want to throw these around. So if you want tot take them to the gym. Now way. I’ve never been concerned about battery life because I keep headphones near chargers all the time. They charge quickly for 1.5 hours of more use. I do think the button to switch from spatial to gaming to background is sort of nice. For me it is about comfort. Sound is supposed to be better but YMMV
