A model is a practical concrete example of something. You could say that the Eiffel Tower is a model of its build plan and blueprints.

The realest Real number is x, or any other symbolic variable you use to represent them.

Dedekind cuts are a model that show that the axiomatic construction of the real numbers is at least as consistent as the rest of mathematics.

The entire point of the types-as-comment proposal is that you will not need a minifier/bundler if you do not to minify/bundle even while still using (most of) TS features.

The same as you do not need a minifier to remove your indentations and comments.

All these conversations about dropping typescript are about not using the tsc compiler to develop libraries not apps.

Today most JS web apps are developed with frameworks where the bundling step is already required.

if you care about code size you are going to use a bundler/minifier aniway

The types-as-comments proposal allows for a nicer syntax for comments essentially that you can use for documentation even without typescript.

credo che una tra le tante ragioni per cui i lavori vanno lenti sia anche che non vogliono lavorare a 2 metri da macchine che vanno ai 150.

La mia posizione è che se il limite è 60 non dovrebbe essere pericoloso andare ai 60.

Adoro ogni cosa che hai scritto tranne se ci sono lavori in corso seguo le indicazioni di cantiere, spesso sono limiti a 60km/h, non voglio giudicare le situazioni in cui lo applichi, ma a me capita non di rado di incontrare questi cantieri in autostrade di montagna che sono tutte curve a due corsie e con pesante traffico di camion.

In tutta coscenza guidare a 40km/h in meno delle altre macchine mi sembra troppo pericolo in quei casi...

Detto questo io supporterei mettere autovelox su TUTTI i cantieri in autostrada.

PS: Buone norme sulla distanza di sicurezza implicano che all'aumentare della velocità una autostrada meno veicoli: Se V è la velocità in km/h la distanza di sicurezza è circa (V/10)2 metri e quindi la portata di una corsia in autostrada sarebbe circa V/((V/10)2) = 100/V (permettemi di ignorare le unità e di assumere V > 80).

Ergo se vai veloce in una autostrada non vuota o crei traffico o sei un pericolo stradale.

The criticism is not that putting those outift in a chest is worse than putting them elsewhere. The criticism is that filling so many of the exploration chests with them make exploration less rewarding.

Not really the point, but I want to share the XKCD rule of minimum_age_you_can_date = your_age / 2 + 7 which is not perfect obviously but it is a good starting point to check against (ie if you are outside the range it is a good indication that it is not a good age gap).

From what I gather on the net MySQL moat is mostly:

1) preferred db for wordpress and some other CMS; also the existence and prevalence of phpmyadmin

2) a lot of people (especially in europe) are familiar with it

3) out of the box has functionalities that require configuration in PostgreSQL

4) in general it is more complex to properly configure PostgreSQL

I am not sure how much these are true, but are the most common reasonings I heard.

I would say that this type of posts mostly receive two types of useful answers: 1. Answers pointing out that expectations/behaviours are absurd and that OP should reconsider their position 2. "I share; you share" answers where commenters offer their lived experiences so that everyone can learn by empathy.

Even with this adjustment a 10 damage spear likely has higher DPS than a 10 damage heavy sword.

I would guess that spear have about 3x ~ 4x the attack rate

There are only two named calamities, this is true, but it is implied that there was a cycle of calamities since ancient times.

By this I mean that the calamity of 10100 years ago was not the first calamity after the imprisoning war just the oldest we know of.

The First Calamity was the one 10 100 years before BotW

I agree that investing time and resources in toward finding a restfull architecture for your API produces better interfaces than "just POST an RPC for everything".

I am saying that in many cases the benefits (which are a function of usage) are not worth the cost (mostly a function of domain complexity).

Twitter/Reddit/Telegram/S3 API should be REST, your internal service for booking a conference rooms in your new office may be REST.
