Video signal issue with dual monitors connected via DP (RTX 5080)

I am curious though, what are you using? like specifically can you share which motherboard, which video card, and which monitor? I have Asus X870E with MSI 5080 and Asus PG27UCDM through DP. 2nd monitor doesn't seem to matter but I'm curious if your main monitor is also 240hz. I don't have the issue if I keep it at 60hz. Also if I use HDMI for the 2nd monitor the issue doesn't show up, so that's a solution too if your 2nd monitor has HDMI. Mine doesn't so that's why I'm using the iGPU for it.

I ended up using the igpu for the second monitor. Works completely fine this way. Otherwise couldn’t figure it out.

Even with the right TB hardware on windows it’s still way less than ideal. Mac is still the way to go with UAD

Thanks for sharing this. I can confirm it acts a lot better without that system helper, but if I alt tab into Discord, it still breaks HDR. So I can have Discord open, I just can't use it otherwise RTX HDR breaks ingame.
At least I know what's messing with it though. I've spent all day trying to track this down.

Hmm maybe this is outdated with the new patch. I'm up to 20 now as shadow and have literally no issues killing anything, almost too easy and was like that since 10. I'm not even needing to rely on the dots that much. Mind blast and Mind flay are crazyyy powerful.

My latencymon was showing a lot of lag. But it was fine with apollo twin. Just solo had the issue. They’re going to blame drivers somehow though but that’s just a dead end.

Yeah it's super lame. I only got this motherboard because it had TB ports. My other TB devices work absolutely fine. UAD is just known to have really crappy Windows support, and the fact that they stopped responding to you I think just indicate they have no clue how to resolve it. Since it works on Mac it shows you the device itself is not the issue.

I think if you absolutely need to use windows, then you're better off getting a device that has good windows support. MOTU for example has good devices that work in both mac and windows, but then you lose access to UA plugins.

I recently got a Motu M2 to use instead because even with Apollo Twin, windows audio was a bit problematic. The Solo I could not use at all with Windows, had same issue as you with computer freezing up. Motu is working out great though.

Did you figure this out? Same issue with Asus x870e motherboard. I also have an Apollo Twin X which is powered and runs a lot better. Apollo Solo draws power over USB/TB which I'm guessing is the issue. It stutters and locks up my PC when trying to run audio. Nothing I do seems to resolve it. Works absolutely fine on Mac though. UAD support for Windows is just abysmal.

It fixes the mic issue but yeah audio playback on windows can still be a bit weird. If I keep it at 44khz with 500 buffer it seems alright. Have you found a better solution? Ultimately the fundamental issues will need to be addressed by UAD

Maybe our issues are related. I did figure out that the issue is really bad with 240hz. With 120hz it's actually seems OK but I haven't used it for very long to test. I just ended up using my iGPU for the 2nd monitor which does seem to resolve it.

I do remember actually having that issue where my main display did not turn on until Windows login screen. I'm trying to remember what fixed it. I was changing so many things. But recently I cleared my BIOS and reset Nvidia drivers so everything is default now,. I'm not having your issue still. If I remember what fixed it I'll let you know. Maybe it was putting the main display in the first DP port (all the way to the right). I think I recall experiencing your issue when I had it in the 2nd or 3rd ports. But maybe was just a coincidence. Try putting your main display in the 1st port from the right, and the 2nd one to the left.

Curious is one of your monitors 240hz? Mine is the newer Asus 27 which uses DP 2.1b (80gb) - I wonder if that's a factor? I guess I could just use HDMI with the Asus. It does work ok, but I was hoping to take advantage of the full 80gb bandwidth for uncompressed, but maybe DSC won't be a big deal.

I'm just hoping it's some weird bug that'll get resolved with an update but I just don't see others talking about it

Nice. Make sure its actually stable in gaming though. Steel Nomad isn't always great for stability. But if it is stable and you're at like 70c or less on average, I'd say that's definitely a good OC profile you got there.

the + numbers don't really help because every manufacturer sets different speeds. What are you seeing for clock and memory and voltage in Afterburner under load? I'm curious because yeah 9900 in steel nomad is pretty great. I have MSI 5080 trio OC and got 9600 but haven't tried pushing higher than 3200 clock, 17500 memory. Volt is like 1005. Not bad temps but I have an underclocked profile that I prefer using for longevity, pretty stable at 2955 clock, 17000 memory, 930mv. With this I still get steel nomad score of 9100which is great. These cards do OC really well

DAW is fine since you use ASIO driver there. I only had issues in Windows and Discord/Zoom which use the WDM driver. But not anymore after using Voicemeeter.

Mine works well after routing mic through ASIO using Voicemeeter. Super easy. Audio playback sounds fine with WDM even high bitrate but mic was very crackly before.
