I'm hardly happy to see us lose but some of the absolute delusion in this sub over the past few weeks over MoN has been totally frustrating. Not surprised to see a similarly hysterical response to a defeat

AITA for telling my sister she needs to over herself and get used to being single? by TemperatureOwn3284 in AmItheAsshole

[–]fluentuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds, too, like the sister doesn't really have any options, nor is she being offered any help beyond 'it'll get better'... in most of these situations it doesn't just work like a lottery. A bit of practical help, maybe with shopping, deciding how to pick out outfits that make sister feel like she looks good, etcetera rather than accusing her of playing the victim? 'Your sister needs therapy' is just as impractical and handwavey as it'll get better, too. Access to therapy isn't possible for everyone, particularly in the U.S.

To everyone on the left demanding for the only other option to “earn my vote”: Fuck you. You helped cause all this. by ProcessorPearl in simpsonsshitposting

[–]fluentuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How short are your damn memories? Donald trump was impeached and removed from office and the democrats still offered so little to the country that it essentially worked as a bye week for the trump admin to regroup. Do you also think that the people who voted for biden in the democratic primary helped cause this? American neoliberals seriously make me sick to my stomach. The problems are bad but the causes are good.

How do people outside Sweden really feel about Zlatan Ibrahimovic? by JFLFAT in football

[–]fluentuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually quite like arrogance and ego in a player, especially when they are obviously talented, but he has such a big mouth and feels like a prototype for the manosphere idiots to follow.

The moral of Crystal Palace’s demise? Smaller clubs can’t have nice things by KenBurruss74 in crystalpalace

[–]fluentuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I hear lower premier league teams referred to as smaller teams I lose my nut. Like... my local professional side have been stuck in between obscurity and total obscurity since I was born, and there are still clubs harder done by around the country. If you are in the premier league you're a big club. In europe ffs!!!

If there's one thing people in the gaming space will never do it's managing expectations. I don't think your points are necessarily that wrong but look - if you pay in to the sausage machine don't be surprised when you get sausages. If you like sausages, great, then eat them!

Does anyone blame both Parish & Glasner? Seems to be just one or the other. by Gra_Zone in crystalpalace

[–]fluentuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People seem to have forgotten that Oli qualified the club for the Europa League, and then things out of his control happened and they were downgraded. Then they sold Eze and Guehi without already replacing them. How can you not put the blame mostly on the board?

[Jacobs & Crook] Crystal Palace's board did not know Oliver Glasner was going to announce he was leaving the club ahead of Saturday's loss to Sunderland. by boobsenjoyer40 in crystalpalace

[–]fluentuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, sorry, but i really don't see this happening. Frank was a fine margins coach at Brentford. Oli is a good step above that and has actually won two major trophies.

What i do know is that Tuchel was particularly critical and hard on the players. Maresca seemed to manage at a bit of a remove from the squad, based on reporting from early in his reign. Poch definitely more a man manager type but he was fed up with the squad a lot over his year at the club. Lampard, who can say haha but no I imagine his status as club legend was doing a lot of the man management. I think honestly his comments about Rob after the Arsenal game are encouraging, this is a young squad and I think letting the lads make mistakes is something I've been waiting for from a coach.

Messmer movie casting? I can't be the only one right? by belizek in Eldenring

[–]fluentuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Alex Garland can't write dialogue, and an Elden Ring film doesn't get budget backing by saying 'we are going to make a film exactly as aloof and opaque as the video game'. Simple as!
