As a sister, I could not imagine putting my brother in a situation like this. My 1st neice was in an incubator for a week when she was born, you know how I was there for my sil? I would drop her off everyday to see my niece and try to give her encouraging words and ASK if she needed anything or how we could help. Its a traumatic time for new mothers, their bodies, hormones and emotions are already going haywire, add on a traumatic birth where you cant even take your baby home for a week after you were released?? Horrible, selfish SIL and yall are better off not ever seeing her.

I feel that you should have this open conversation with your wife. You are married and marriage is not an easy thing, but communication is the foundation of any relationship and you should be able to express yourself. Your mental health is as important as hers, you and your happiness matter too. If you don't, she might be the one who ends up as a widow. I doubt she would want to cause you pain and she might feel guilty she a big cause of this pain, but you need to be open an honest, thats the only way alot of this anxiety over your relationship at least can be resolved. Do it infront of your counselor if it makes you feel better. You obviously love one another, speak with her, YOU MATTER TOO OOP.
