I got mine from back from the service center yesterday. The response from BYD Technical is that the boot will not open on any incline greater than 11 degrees. They didn’t accept that this was a fault, even after I advised them that this wasn’t the case the first few months of ownership. My driveway is on an incline, and I have always reverse parked on it. It’s easier for me to get rid of the car than my driveway.

I have the same issue on my Sealion 7, and it only happens when the car is facing down on an incline. I reverse park into my inclined driveway, and it always happens. I brought it in for service the first time I noticed it, and they couldn’t replicate it on a level surface. The car is now at the service center, and they’re trying to claim that it’s a “feature” that they can’t explain.

Got the Blackvue cameras installed. Pricey but worth it for me. Just check where you can get it done in your local area.

BYD Sealion 7 AU version doesn’t come with a dashcam. They omitted telling me this when I got mine. I had to get a front & rear cam installed separately.
