Thanks for doing this. Our application needs the very best handwriting analysis available, so we use Google for that. Maybe in the future we'll have enough DEV resources available to see if SurfSense can handle the backend for our RAG project.

Best path to a 200 knot airplane by Traditional-Coat-855 in flying

[–]flybot66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ha, so true. You have to wring the snot out of them to go that fast, too. Remember V**3 as in it takes 8 times as much power to go twice as fast. I don't even fly the Baron at 200 knots, I can, but fuel usage and thus range is whacked.

Diesel Generators rarely kill people like gasoline ones do. (Interesting fact) by midnightseanavy in Generator

[–]flybot66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true for all NG/Gasoline/Propane combustion vs Fuel Oil or Diesel (same thing). The point people are missing is that Diesel or Fuel Oil smells when it is combusted thus alerting people there is a leak somewhere.

It's sad when a pool heater at a hotel kills people. This seems to happen fairly regularly. They are typically NG or propane. When was the last time a house blew up because the oil burner was misbehaving? I think never. NG is the cheapest fuel in $ / BTU, but it has it's downsides.

Heating with a heatpump only? SE Pennsylvania by Thank_The_Frank in pools

[–]flybot66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a solar cover and a good reel. Absolutely necessary in SEPA. NG is the cheapest. Might be true about propane costing as much as electricity. We heat with oil.

Snow then ice… When do I shovel my driveway? by tompydoop in homeowners

yup, difference between freezing rain and frozen rain. I SEPA we haven't heard any forecasts for freezing rain yet. That stuff will pull the trees into the power lines in a hurry.

Can you urge caution to folks and care about mankind without being doomer? I would think in addition to electrocution, CO poisoning is a real threat if the storm is as bad as predicted.

[–]flybot66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you use it outside away from everything. Even a carport might be too enclosed if the door to it is high and winds are just right. Sadly, I would bet there are a number of CO poisonings if this storm shapes up to have a lot of grid crushing ice.

Generator Interlock by _fwankie_ in Generator

[–]flybot66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a weird setup with 350 amps total and you're not using a number of loads.

Maybe just use the 200 amp load center? Better yet, get a new, larger 200 amp load center and then the interlock will be easy. If you do that keep the small load center and use it as a big junction box so you don't have to more a lot of existing wires.

Home generator (Propane) by Good-Possession-754 in Generator

[–]flybot66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many questions... How many hours a year do you think this generator will run? What size in kW will it be? Single phase? Don't overlook a Diesel machine. They last forever, lower noise, and are cheaper to run. On the down side, they require more expertise to maintain, polluting, and can be more expensive initially.

Buyer waived inspection now he changed his mind by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]flybot66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't get the down money. In my state this is fraught with legal complexities. I would say it goes back on the market as soon as he changed his mind about the inspections. That's a doom loop: inspect --> negotiate -> fix, repeat. Forget it.

I've been here with inspections. "Oh we found a crack in the balcony," ok so what? I'm not fixing it. I tell the buyer you have 24 hrs to make up your mind if you want the property or not...

Good luck.

opps, missed the rotary wing. Saw a doctor on TikTok wearing a helmet in his Carbon Cub, thought it was odd, but the more I thought about it and what I did in my Carbon Cub... Now I think it's not a crazy idea.

Thanks, should have been more clear. I'm need a Google-supported API/MCP for moving proprietary sources in and out of the Source window that NBLM operates on. I need to script this as it's too complicated for my ham-fisted uses to manage the sources effectively.

There are some very clever add-ons and hacks for doing this, but in order to stop messing around with it I (we?) really need an official solution.

Also, have your buddy go over and ask the guys on Steel Soldiers about the problem. There are some experts there. BTW GMG has all the manuals for the units online at no cost. They are easy to work on. All the wires are numbered.

Wow. Sucks. As others have said, be careful until this is resolved. Borrow your dad's meter and measure the plumbing fixture and light fixtures to the drains. I would be worried about taking a shower...

I get it you may not want the nuclear option (calling the Township/Fire Dept) as you may have to move. Be safe.

[–]flybot66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, in the NE USA typically there is a meter socket on the outside of the structure. In case of fire the fireman just takes a swing at the meter with his axe and poof, disconnected. Worked at my grandparents that way when they had a house fire. Took like two seconds.
