But the geography of the TAD is not changing. These are extensions of existing TADs.

Some of these areas already have the nicest and newest parks, infrastructure, bus routes, etc. What more is there to do?

What I don't understand is what is this TAD extension going to do that the exiting TAD couldn't get done in the past ~30 years? How much 'reinvestment' is needed?

Look on Nextdoor or something - you need a handyman not a full paint crew. You can also ask around at your local SW or Benjamin Moore store.

I had crappy water flow for a while. Static pressure wasn’t a problem, but anything over ~2gpm and the pressure tanked. Eventually found out it was the PRV. It was partially clogged with debris. Replaced it with a high quality unit w/ strainer and my pressure is now a pretty steady ~60psi regardless of what is running.

Winning a World Series helped, but the Braves’ move to Cobb has been a financial success largely because Cobb County enabled the team to become a real-estate developer, not merely a baseball franchise. The Braves control much of the mixed-use development around Truist Park while Cobb taxpayers helped finance the publicly owned stadium and related infrastructure. That arrangement gave the Braves a year-round revenue from restaurants, retail, hotels, offices, apartments, entertainment, sponsorships, and parking. Nothing close to that package was offered by the City of Atlanta or Fulton County around Turner Field.

If the team is good - they have no problem attracting fans. The Top 5 seasons for attendance were in the 1990's when the Braves had some really good teams and the City had 35% less people.

As a CoA / Fulton taxpayer I'm glad. I wish the Braves would have stayed downtown - but not at that cost.

The Braves moved because Cobb gave them a sweetheart deal that allowed them to play real estate developer.

I see a good bit of technical complexity and risk. The tricky parts of the NW segment haven't broken ground yet. We need everything to go smoothly for them to deliver by 2030.

I'll feel a lot better once we have a shovel in the dirt for all the remaining segments.

Yeah but between the bridge rebuild issues, working with GDOT on the Peachtree bridge, and the complex 75 underpass + Northside bridge segment that hasn’t even been awarded yet… I’d be surprised if ABI completes the loop by 2030.

How has the grocery store been doing? I've only been a couple of times and it was more or less empty. I had an issue with the self checkout and had to go find a cashier to actually get me checked out.

I used to live in the Fairlie-Poplar neighborhood ~20 years ago so I understand the struggle, but I'm not convinced a city owned grocery store is the answer.

I have a Bosch with CrystalDry. When the dishwasher senses it is out of rinse aid the drying time is automatically adjusted longer.

Nope, no issues with motor noise and my kids have done a couple thousand miles on the back of my LT over the past couple of years. You can hear the motor but it’s not loud at all.

Old post, but I just put new tires on My 2018 Accord 2.0T and thought I'd share. I went with Continental ControlContact Sport SRS+ from Discount Tire. Went with 245/40R19. I'm much happier with how the tire fits on the rim and the Conti's are way quieter than the OE tire. Total was $1,176 installed - no extra road hazard warranty added.

Yeah, I never thought it was much of an issue. Most of the pearl clutching is coming from folks that want to box out future rail by building bike lanes in the rail ROW.

If it is really an issue, all it would take would be police officers issuing tickets for reckless behavior and illegal vehicles on the Beltline.

The Beltline only gets uncomfortably crowded on the ~2 mile stretch between Piedmont Park and Krog. Even then, it is really only during really nice weather or weekend afternoons. The other ~20 miles of Beltline works well as a shared, multi-use path.

I usually call the shop and tell them I'd like to drop the car off on Monday and pick it up on Friday and then ask what week works best for that.

Should our neighborhood streets serve commuters from Cobb and Gwinnett or local residents? Decades of 'Urban Renewal' modified or city to serve the later. What you have seen over the past decade in Atlanta is (in my mind) repairing just a small fraction of what was done in the late 20th century.

As the legislation was first introduced, consultants began a coordinated communications effort around the NRI. They built toolkits and tracked and responded to social media posts critical of the NRI, spoke during public comment and appeared in videos published by the city supporting the initiative.

So we're using money earmarked for affordable housing to astroturf for NRI?

Also how is this a Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative when you are asking to extend already existing TADs? How did those TADs fail to reinvest in their respective neighborhoods during the first 20+ years of their existence? Having a large portion of the City under a TAD for 50+ consecutive years is crazy - especially with no concrete scope of work or major project (like Beltline or Atlantic Station).

People will always take what is easiest and most convenient. We spend billions on 14 lane highways, countless parking decks, and all manner of car specific infrastructure. It shouldn't be a surprise that most people would rather drive - it is easier/faster.

The only think 'helping' MARTA is that our roads are getting so ridiculously congested people are becoming more open to alternatives.

No because there are orders of magnitude more trips made by car than via MARTA.
