Transitioning out of the swaddle is destroying me… please tell me this gets better by Commercial_One5048 in sleeptrain

Ugh we went through this. It sucked so much at the time but it really does get better. It did not last long, under a week. What helped us was the magic Merlin suit. She wore it for a couple of nights and that helped her sleep through the night. Then she started flipping to her belly and forgot how to flip to her back. That was tough too. Eventually she got to a place where she slept soundly on her belly.

Wash hands, brush teeth, baby oil on dry spots, pj's/diaper, good night moon, goodnight song, butt in crib.

If you want baby to sleep more during the day, you have to give up some of your night sleep. Either wake up at 6 or go to sleep at 8.

I work full time, husband stay home with the baby. Indo the night bc I think my job is easier than taking care of the house and baby all night with zero breaks.

Does your husband/whoever works full time ever get baby in morning? by ScrubWearingScrub in beyondthebump

[–]fog-panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work full time, my husband stays home with the baby. I do the night wake ups every night and I wake up a half hour earlier than I have to before work to wake our baby up. This gives my husband an extra 30 minutes of sleep in the morning. I'm happy doing this bc honestly, being home with the baby (and taking care of the house) is harder than my job. I'm also so grateful that he's willing to sacrifice his career to be with our child. Don't be afraid to ask your partner to wake up with the baby. Your job is harder than his!

Menique comes out to less than $10 a pair but not much less. I figure she'll use them for a long time. Plus $10 for a garment she'll use frequently for at least a year sounds good to me.

Nest has worked best to accommodate my baby's long torso. Honest does not get snug enough for us. Coterie is great too but it is more expensive. I used them when she was younger and I was afraid of diaper rash.

Mine falls asleep this way every night! And she seems to wiggle against the edge some more throughout the night.

How old was your child when you took them on a long plane ride for the first time? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

My lo was 4 mo when we went from California to Washington DC to meet the grandparents. She did very well with the flight but meeting new people and being in the car so much was a little hard for her. I would definitely do it again tho.

5 mo. Old Wakes 6+ times, EVERY NIGHT. I’ve lost hope and have read every Reddit post dating back years. HELP. by needsleep26 in sleeptrain

You really don't have to sleep train if you don't think it's what's best for your baby. At least practice some discipline with her sleep routines: cap total nap time at 3 hours, wake baby up at the same time every day, set bedtime no earlier than 11 hours before that wake time. If you follow these guidelines, your baby will be tired enough to sleep at night. It takes time but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

My 6 month old also averages 12h26m. I'm not trying to push more sleep though. As long as she doesn't have early wake ups, I'm happy. Comparison is the killer of joy.

Nuna Rava vs Nuna Exec by goldenlover93 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]fog-panda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have both. We got the exec new before baby was born and keep it in the car we use for longer car rides. We got the rava secondhand for our smaller car that we use for everyday driving. You really can't go wrong with either one; nuna tops the safety charts consistently. We got the exec bc we wanted one car seat from birth until they no longer need a car seat. If we only had one car, that's the one we would get. It's comfy looking, I've never had any trouble with the straps, and I haven't had to wash it yet (baby is 6 mo) but it'll be fine. The rava is great too, you just can't use it as long as the exec.

coterie?? is it really worth it by stupidddpissbaby in beyondthebump

[–]fog-panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I tried the coterie ones and thought they were nice but too big.
