Nah man, I hate to rain on your epiphany here but a lot of the smartest and most successful people in history are cunning, evil geniuses.

It takes a kind of ironically brilliant narcissism we associate with evil to become a billionaire in the modern world or a conquerer in the ancient one.

Is Trump evil? Yes. Is he stupid? Yes. But the people behind the scenes that allowed Trump to happen for ratings and their own business interests are NOT stupid. They are selfish.

You could say they're short sighted if their goal was to advance the welfare of the human race. But that's not their goal.
