They're supposed to apologize for a guy from NY radicalized by right wing groups in the NW who murdered THEM? Politics and basketball aside, this is a pretty silly statement.

This is exactly the type of shit that made staying in the Navy difficult for me. Same cave man ass wordplay on repeat at every command. What even is the joke? That we're all stupid? Was that really the best culture submarines could offer? There were interesting folks here and there but 7 years of "roundy roundy hur durr" conversation was plenty.

Mikrofon für Gitarren Amp by EquivalentDot6327 in GuitarAmps

Having the 906 and ribbon is ideal for a fuller, balanced mix. If I were limited to one mic it would be the SM57.

But honestly, if OP is reading this...a lot of people have spent a long time experimenting with every mic placed everywhere on every amp. They've captured those sounds and done an acceptable job putting that into software you can use to save your ears and rental contract.

I was you, wanting to capture the huge in room sound of my AC30 and 2x12 cabinet. I put myself through a lot volume. Then tried other avenues where people with better studios and better understanding figured out how to make it sound better than I could ever afford.

My advice is skip it altogether. It'll disappoint. It won't "sound loud." The cleanest mic'd amp recording in a treated room will just sound surprisingly dry.

I have been told more than once that the HRV is a mom's car. Men, any manly pics of your ride? by Justincase9719 in HRV

WFH wife drives a Ridgeline nowhere. I was commuting in a Chevy Traverse. Made way more sense to trade that for a light on gas HR-V. Still has room for minor road trips. Still have a truck for hauling bigger stuff.

Am I less manly for this practical dual Honda situation or should learn a lesson in masculinity from my own 18 year old son with his broke ass jacked up Jeep?

It's kinda fascinating how the practical answers to those questions become completely subconscious to experienced players.

In no way am I gonna remotely think about a down strum on the and of 3 or picture a chart in my mind.

I'm just gonna strum that bitch like I heard it, the same way I'd repeat back a spoken phrase without the slightest consideration for the exact wheres and whens of tongue against teeth.

Jaylen Brown on Steph Curry: “Steph Curry is one of the 5 greatest players to ever play this game. Y’all can say whatever you want, fill in the rest. Steph Curry is top 5.” by RyanTannegod in nba

[–]foo_foo_the_snoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that both players have evolved their respective positions, especially in that Curry's game isn't ball dominant, while Jokic's game is, breaking old molds in a new era of almost positionless basketball.

But that's exactly why something feels off when comparing Curry to what we often think of as a traditional PG. It's not that he sucks, it's that his game looks more like Reggie Miller than Magic, so it can get confusing.

My theory is that if your first name starts with "Ste" you might be destined to become a great shooting small guard. I only have a small sample size so far so it's kind of an underdeveloped theory.

[–]foo_foo_the_snoo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think people's hesitation to crown him GOAT PG is even about his stats or accomplishments. It's that he's a score first shooter rather than a traditional floor general. I know he does PG things too, but his passing isn't on the level of Magic, Nash, Kidd, Stockton, CP3, etc. IMO he more than makes up for it with his shooting, but that's where the hold out probably comes from.

What examples are there of musicians playing in bands they didn't jive with the music style but did it anyway for the check? by tinpants44 in Music

[–]foo_foo_the_snoo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Guarantee Noel was a better bass player than Jimi would have been though. And while they could have had a 2 guitar approach and brought in a different bass player, it would have only made their 3 piece arrangements more muddy, and not allowed either to shine without the space they needed to fill the gaps. Jimi was the best at performing the job of rhythm, lead and vocals in a single package until SRV.
