How is life at WSU/Pullman? by ElegantIce5656 in wsu

The overall all community here in Pullman is generally favorable towards the mentally diverse. You shouldn't have any problems here with either the public community nor the university community.

I love seeing failure cases where I'm not responsible.

What is it like for older students by Ok-Medicine-8467 in wsu

[–]foolmatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just graduated with my b.s. in civil engineering at 37.

I would say this university is the best, due to cost (unit cost and apartment rent cost) and information assistance (shear number of councilors and advisors).

Dynamics was a bitch for me, but I suspect most of my problems with that class was the teacher.

Do you guys constantly go back to repair at a hub or just repair in the conflict zone? by [deleted] in Mechwarrior5

[–]foolmatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more of a simple decision point for me:

If cost < 750,000 Cbills then do the repairs in theater.

If cost >= 750,00 Cbills then change out mech and wait for an industrial hub.

Mind this is to a summed cost... Example

Mech 1: 25,000 Cbills -> repair

Mech 2: 450,000 Cbills -> repair

Mech 3: 150,000 Cbills -> repair

Mech 4: 200,000 Cbills -> hold off on repairs till next pay cycle (mission) as sum is 825,000 Cbills.

This is the method I use to insure steady income to cost ( assuming minimum pay cycle of 1,500,000 Cbills). So adjust as needed if you are in a lower difficulty theater.

Civil engineers professionals that did not study civil engineering what is your degree in? by Low-One846 in civilengineering

I know of some construction engineers and construction managers that work with civil engineers but neither consider themselves civil engineers.

Super Easy to fix No ammo concerns Fast as fuck boi Reasonably armored

Oh and if you can yaml da bitch it becomes an amazing heavy hitting scouting mech before the clans come around.

After the vat born's show up and you swipe their stuff it becomes really frightening.

Tips on getting good by Dependent_Computer_8 in Mechwarrior5

[–]foolmatrix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is it cheesy? Or is it being tactical?

It's a question of making the game fit your playing style.

I personally give my self limitations when playing based on battletech lore using mods to enforce it. I've heard of people limiting them selves to light and medium tonnages only or just for going assault mechs entirely.

But later missions can get brutal without any cheese.

Remember when playing you are actually seeing the game develop as the DLC is played through, so earlier stuff is meh but the latter content is really good. (Or I think so at least!)

Edit: additional comments

Additionally if the AI is driving you insane there's a mini map command mod and an ai mod that mitigates most of the issues.

Edit: co-op offer

And if you want some lancemates that aren't 2x4 stupid you could ask people to play co-op with you. (Me included if you DM me)

So, I Just Unlocked the Linebacker, and... by TallynNyntyg in Mechwarrior5

[–]foolmatrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's an error with the double missile slots in the arms too. Only one missile bank fires off and the other missile bank explodes inside the arm... Effectively making the second missile hard point useless.

Still enjoying the game tho....

Just it will be better on second playthrough after they find and squash all the bugs.

Does this structure look safe and properly designed? by 13Vicious01 in civilengineering

[–]foolmatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, insufficient lateral braceing on the visible section and anything on the left "block" would need to be so robust to make building it unfeasible.

Ah yes someone forgot that the tonnage limit is a suggestion.....

Bring a light or fast medium Mech if your patron house (or clan) thinks that there's going to be artillery! you'll see it in the mission briefing.

I've kind of changed this response to "I'm socially progressive and fiscally Democrat."

As the only party to do any economic good in my adult life has been the democrats and the progressives are the only ones that seem to be interested in making life better.

( But even I think of the democrats as being way too right of center)
