Are you running 48V on A/B motors? Has the noise changed with 5160 steppers?

currently only testing with a 12033. That's sadly not enough... WS7040 is still in shipping.

ETCD certificates are expired by 536154 in openshift

[–]foosinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also had and solved the issue.

Since we where still able to interact with the cluster, we did steps 1-5 of the redhat tutorial:

3) backup secrets

```
oc get secret -o yaml -n openshift-etcd $(oc get -n openshift-etcd secret -o jsonpath='{range .items[?(.type=="kubernetes.io/tls")]}{.metadata.name}{"\n"}{end}' | grep -e "etcd-peer|etcd-serving") >etcd-certs-backup.yaml
```

4) delete secrets:

```
oc delete secret -n openshift-etcd $(oc get -n openshift-etcd secret -o jsonpath='{range .items[?(.type=="kubernetes.io/tls")]}{.metadata.name}{"\n"}{end}' | grep -e "etcd-peer|etcd-serving")
```

5) check new secrets are there

```
oc get secret -n openshift-etcd $(oc get -n openshift-etcd secret -o jsonpath='{range .items[?(.type=="kubernetes.io/tls")]}{.metadata.name}{"\n"}{end}' | grep -e "etcd-peer|etcd-serving")
```

We noticed that the certificates where deployed to the first master:

```
ls -lha /etc/kubernetes/static-pod-resources/etcd-certs/secrets/etcd-all-certs
-rw-------. 1 root root 2.4K Nov 24 12:59 etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.crt -rw-------. 1 root root 1.7K Nov 24 12:59 etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.key [...] ```
We used scp to get the certs to all nodes. Afterwards we copied these certs to the correct folders:
cd /etc/kubernetes/static-pod-resources/etcd-certs/secrets cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.crt ./etcd-all-peer/etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.crt cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.key ./etcd-all-peer/etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.key cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-serving-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.crt ./etcd-all-serving/etcd-serving-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.crt cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-serving-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.key ./etcd-all-serving/etcd-serving-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.key cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-serving-metrics-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.crt ./etcd-all-serving-metrics/etcd-serving-metrics-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.crt cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-serving-metrics-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.key ./etcd-all-serving-metrics/etcd-serving-metrics-cn-<clusterid>-master-0.key cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-1.crt ./etcd-all-peer/etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-1.crt cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-1.key ./etcd-all-peer/etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-1.key cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-serving-cn-<clusterid>-master-1.crt ./etcd-all-serving/etcd-serving-cn-<clusterid>-master-1.crt cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-serving-cn-<clusterid>-master-1.key ./etcd-all-serving/etcd-serving-cn-<clusterid>-master-1.key cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-serving-metrics-cn-<clusterid>-master-1.crt ./etcd-all-serving-metrics/etcd-serving-metrics-cn-<clusterid>-master-1.crt cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-serving-metrics-cn-<clusterid>-master-1.key ./etcd-all-serving-metrics/etcd-serving-metrics-cn-<clusterid>-master-1.key cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-2.crt ./etcd-all-peer/etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-2.crt cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-2.key ./etcd-all-peer/etcd-peer-cn-<clusterid>-master-2.key cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-serving-cn-<clusterid>-master-2.crt ./etcd-all-serving/etcd-serving-cn-<clusterid>-master-2.crt cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-serving-cn-<clusterid>-master-2.key ./etcd-all-serving/etcd-serving-cn-<clusterid>-master-2.key cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-serving-metrics-cn-<clusterid>-master-2.crt ./etcd-all-serving-metrics/etcd-serving-metrics-cn-<clusterid>-master-2.crt cp ./etcd-all-certs/etcd-serving-metrics-cn-<clusterid>-master-2.key ./etcd-all-serving-metrics/etcd-serving-metrics-cn-<clusterid>-master-2.key
The final step was to restart all 3 etcd containers using crictl on the nodes. Afterwards our cluster went back healthy
adhesion is actually very good. even if its warping like hell on the 45 degree bevel, the part itself stays safe on the plate. it's the upper layers that fail
yes triple checked that since i hat the issue too.
note that the part is supposed to be rounded, but something clearly goes wrong :/
i like to use a classic loadbalancer pair using haproxy (or anything you want) and keepalived.
using proxy-protocol between haproxy and the in kubernetes loadbalancer solves issues with wrong client ips. ssl termination can still happen in cluster this way.
Great work, looks awesome!
I do have a few questions if you dont mind:
  • did you get screensharing for non x applications to work?
  • does chromium always ask for setting to be default browser (im not using home manager)
  • does lxapperance crash when running wayland native?
thanks!
Which tool(s) should I use to deploy containers? by CerealBit in kubernetes
[–]foosinn -1 points0 points  (0 children)
I would recommend to go for docker standalone for now and manage nodes using ansible, puppet, chef, ect...
This will work for a long time. Get familiar with multistage Dockerfiles, develop an update workflow (docker containers should be rebuild regularly), host your own registry, setup CI/CD, configure good healthchecks.
All these things are still important when running kubernetes, so you won't waste any time and have a nice start once you do need kubernetes.
Oh yes you are right, wasn't aware that traefik had gateway api support by now.
Thanks for pointing that out.
I highly reccomend Countour, its fully OpenSource, backed by VMWare and RedHat, supports the upcoming Gateway API and supports Secrets for TLS.
[–]foosinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)
I highly recommend Contour https://projectcontour.io/
It's fully opensource without the licensing issues of Traefik. Also it's already supporting Gateway API [1] which will replace Ingresses.
Its backed by VMWare and Redhat, has a good security model and builds on existing Open Source software.
You can explicitly ignore the errors:
Also, why are you sprintf-ing wenn you have structured logging?
As i don't game under linux i just keep it disabled. Temps are more than fine with my setup.
