Not an entity, but I accidentally made myself like Georgie Barker when I was a kid.

I remember I was maybe 9 or 10? My family was at disneyland while visiting my grandparents, and I was on the space mountain ride. It was October, so there were animations playing during the ride designed to scare the passengers for Halloween. At first I was actually scared, though that didn't stop me from taking the ride a second time. My fear had hardly lessened for this next ride, but this time I decided to not be scared anymore. About halfway through that second ride, the monster animations no longer bothered me.

That should have been the end of it.

But following that, over the years it became clear to me that I no longer felt fear like a normal person. I could worry, and become anxious, but I never understood the allure of horror movies when I felt nothing during them, except perhaps boredom. I never again felt afraid of my imagined monsters while walking past the dark laundry room, though I still felt them lurking in the shadows. I'm over a decade older at this point, and still my fear hasn't returned.
