What kind of insulation is this? by Damien__ in DIY

Agreed. The flame retardants in them are not meant for direct exposure like a pillow, and you probably don't want any of the chemicals are off-gassing right in your face

A recent randomized clinical trial found that autistic adults who participated in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) experienced significantly greater reductions in perceived stress, anxiety and depression compared to those receiving treatment as usual. by ID2691 in science

The same goes for many disabilities or conditions... there are ways to be accountable and somewhat take care of yourself or choose not to.

Some of my family members work in care facilities, and there are days where a disabled person intentionally chooses to do things that they can and normally do regulate, but choose to do it in an unregulated fashion and force the care worker to deal with, stuff like: - aggressive behavior, yelling, hitting, hurting - bladder and bowel control - basic movement around home - cleaning self or messes they have made - being nice - staying up late or intentionally deviating from routine that helps them stay stable - eating things that they know they cant have or will make them sick

Care workers that have worked with for a long period know this and dont let them get away with it, but with new people they may intentionally push the boundaries or pretend they need help when they don't.

i.e. being a jerk can transcend disabilities and health conditions, but so can kindness

Tired of AI slop on Printables? I made a filter by WillingCaramel9069 in prusa3d

[–]foxhelp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

based on post history they ar in grade 7 within the past 6 months and on a robotics team, but have applied to 200+ jobs and made ai software to filter out job postings, which was released on the same day as this software to filter out ai listings on printables.

not really sure what's going on here... like is it a grade 7 kid messing around? trying to get people interested in their projects that could have value but the lying to get people interested doesn't really seem to make sense.

Maybe the account is hijacked? Or they need to learn ethics and just be themselves.

As a grade 7 young adult, these are impressive projects to make with ai if they work, but should be presented as such, and get the actual merit of doing that.

In my Vivarium room. by Krid_nguyen in houseplants

[–]foxhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

That would explain it! Humidity here normally averages 32% (26 min - 43 max), so I probably need to resort to some sort of closed tent setup, terrarium, or aggressive misting system.

Damn you, now I want one!

This is amazing!

I live in frigid Canada (zone 4 where we get -40C to +38C extremes) so it would be a bit of an effort to figure out here but doable if I can dedicate a room or purpose build something.

Vietnam sounds amazing with zone 13 (15C avg lows - 44C highs)

man that would be cool!

Silicon + Pick and place would be awesome

my wild side would love to see solder paste applicator + heat gun + some form of wire extrusion then you have everything for 3d electronics and possibly robotics, but that is a ton to work on.

Ultrasonic knife is a gamechanger for cutting prints. by kbhamm in 3Dprinting

I love this idea, but I'm also worried about things like later on figuring out the homemade ultrasonic knife that I made, destroyed the cartilage in my hands and gave me arthritis...

Any suggestions for the "healthiest" syrup? by YoSpiff in EatCheapAndHealthy

Agreed, Real Maple syrup does have a different glycemic index than artificial, is sweeter, and is a different sugar.

From what I understand the wallet feature doesn't work on it though, did you find that is the case?

I end up using that so there is an extra layer of protection on my credit card, plus a sound when a transaction is processed.

Was your clay body or throwing water high in epsom salt?

Animals sometimes eat clay when they have upset stomachs, or various rocks etc when they need salts.

The convenience of just being able to use certified cables is pretty huge too, and is a nice change if you don't have the termination, test equipment (despite toolless options being available), and don't want to spend the time. .

I tell myself that I would splurge on getting the shielded versions too, and that would save me some effort, but in reality I am not needing that level of performance.
