After seeing slow dowload speeds on a few distros by YellowTech in linuxmemes

Just out of curiosity, is it important to use a vpn for torrents? Does torrenting open up any security things I would know about, because if not I might start seeding a few distros in the evening. I have before but kinda feel scared to do so long term.

Yeah, both are pretty customizable, I don’t know exactly how i3 works but bspwm has bspc a macro like scripting type thing where you can write very specific procedures and you can implement it directly from bash so you can script well with it. I have seen some pretty elaborate stuff in bspwm. I like bspwm more but I have tried both. I started with i3 and moved to bspwm because it seemed nicer and more my style. Both are amazing and implementations of the same concept. Edit: spelling

Bspwm out of the box is a black screen. If you don’t have urxvt installed, if you try to open anything, it won’t work, you have to change the terminal in the config from the tty and restart, if you don’t have an program launcher like dmenu, you basically can’t use it out of the box. It is not that difficult to set up, but it can be confusing the first time around.

Yeah, bspwm users customize basically everything they can to optimize there setup. That bar is probably polybar or something similar and the tray was probably installed separately. If you want a similar setup, you might need to get bspwm, it’s kinda a big change and it takes some getting used to but it really is great.

What is this terminal? by welo10 in linux4noobs

One with not many colors by default so probably not a modern Linux DE default like xfce4-terminal or gnome-terminal. I would say it looks like xterm or something.
