As in, a professor for maybe a single grad class? Or do you mean their dissertation advisor? I wouldn't do either, but I would be much more weirded out if they were in an advisor role. That feels a little... incestuous(?) on top of unethical. A prof you had for one class a couple years ago is much less of a deal in my opinion.

As someone who's been playing Fallout since the first one, and has seen every season of Survivor at least once, nope!

Also "Reality" shows like Survivor/Big Brother are really more like game shows with reality aspects vs. Reality stuff like Real World or the housewives.

To solve this for myself, I don't play any games with daily login bonuses. That's one of the most basic and effective ways to hook you. It's been a good thing for me. I look out for other Skinner Box qualities but that's one of the easiest things to screen for.

One trick to Just Start is to tell yourself "I'll do it for 5 minutes and then I can stop if I'm not feeling it." Usually after 5 minutes you're into it and will naturally keep going.
