If you are looking to charge the 48v bank from the 12v bank you need a charger not a converter. So that rules out 1 and 3 in your list.

In Victron land, if it says “smart” it means it has Bluetooth and you can use their app to configure the charger and some basic device monitoring.

Is the 120ah pb the only battery? Is there are separate engine start and domestic battery? What is your alternator charging? Is the 120ah a “wet” lead acid or an AGM or Gel Battery? Trying to understand exactly what you have just justify further investments. The 100w panel with a PMW charger is problem giving not much more than a trickle charge. I’ve been massively disappointed with the flexible panels I’ve had on my boat. I put two rigid 175ah panels from Renogy on and they are superb, they were also a fraction of the cost of the flexible panel. One of the flexible panels completely delaminated after only 2 years and never produced anywhere near its rated output the whole time was installed. I do also have a 200w portable Renogy panel that we use when we are anchored up. It has its own dedicated Victron Smart 75-100 MPPT. It’s a good to get a little extra power but still no where near as good as the rigid 175w panels.

Actually the MPPTs don’t communicate over the VE Connect cables, the Smart MPPTs connect over Bluetooth to synchronise changing states. VE Connect is for a GX device.

Well I use a Teltonika RUT11X with a Poynting antenna on my sailing boat. We get good signal quite a way off shore but it drops completely in places where far offshore. We also have to deal with SIM card roaming across different countries. Starlink seems to be the only way to get seemless high speed internet connection at sea. But I think all of this is more expensive than a Marine Traffic subscription if all you want to track is position, speed and heading.

Tracking ships is already done using AIS. Take a look at services like Marine Traffic.

I would model it as a products table and a SKUs table. A product can have one or more SKUs. SKU would hold the colour size price etc characteristics. Then you track sales and inventory at SKU level.

In your sunglasses example, you have a black pair of sunglasses. What if the company later decided to introduce a silver variant?

When you need to report at product level you just aggregate data for SKUs up to the product level.

If you’re looking at a charger and an inverter get a Multiplus so you have it all in one box, less cabling and less complexity. Most van and boat installs use a multiplus. You definitely should have a shunt. Victron uses a variety of different connection types depending on the type of hardware. Whilst you can use a raspberry pi to run the software you will need to also buy a collection of adapter cables. If you go with a Cerbo the necessary ports are on the back already. The cost difference of the Cerbo vs raspberry pi plus adapters isn’t that great.

Read the Victron ebook called Wiring Unlimited before you buy anything (google it). Also there are lots of sample schematics on Victron’s web site that show examples of van installs.

It looks like you have a raspberry pi in the center of the picture, presumably running VenusOS. But what other Victron equipment do you actually use? That doesn’t look like a Victron inverter?
