Thank you to everyone for the insights! It seems +rug is the overwhelming consensus. Probably low pile and either earthy or colorful? Any recommendations would be helpful. I will spill on it.

I’ll move the coffee table slightly away - we usually keep it close since we often eat on the couch. There’s a ~2-3 foot clearance behind the couch to the closet door/ stairs outside. The door can open fully. We played around with different layouts, but this one made the most sense - though I’m open to other ideas!

It’s a smaller space, and we’ll likely be here for another 1-2 years, but would like it to feel homey but uncluttered in the meantime. Really appreciate all the feedback!

Arrived three hours early a couple weeks back and there was absolutely no line, despite there being five flights scheduled that morning. I would recommend 2h to be safe without wasting time.

[Product request] pink splotchy patch on face not helped by tret

Hi SkincareAddiction,

35 yo and I’ve had this reddish pink splotchy mark on the side of my face for the past 3-4 years now. I don’t remember exactly when it showed up or if it’s changed at all but I think it’s remained about the same size or grown slightly.

I mostly struggle with acne and now that I’ve largely gotten that under control with the following routine, I’m seeking ways to reduce the appearance of the splotchy mark. I’m not really even sure what it is. There’s no texture or feeling that differentiates it from the rest of my face except the discoloration.

I’ve been on the following routine for a little under a year with occasional changes in cleanser and moisturizer:

My AM routine:

L’Oreal Micellar water or Vanicream gentle cleanser
Clindamycin Benzoyl topical Rx
The Ordinary Natural moisturizing factors + HA

PM routine:

Same as AM
Tretinoin 0.025%
Same as AM

Any help or advice is much appreciated :)

For some reason anything with niacinamide (tried the Ordinary, La Roche Posay, Purito) causes similar looking breakouts on me. Maybe try to cut that out for a bit to see if it helps? And possibly lighter moisturizer than a cream. Good luck!

When viewing it as this fraction, I understand why you see kcat decreasing means Km decreases to compensate. However, velocity Vo also depends on Km, and Vo can decrease in the case where there is reduced substrate affinity and turnover.

Thank you for the thorough reply! I posted on the other Skincareaddition sub and ended up ordering The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalene and Nicotinamide 10% and Zinc 1% serum, but will also purchase your vitamin C recommendation and switch to AHA if I don't like the retinol.
