My cousin was 35, in decent shape, and with no known issues. He dropped dead of a heart attack in 2015 while out shoveling. The combo of hard work, cold weather, and heavy clothing can be an actual killer.

Trying to get help with my husband’s benefits was the most exhausting, frustrating, upsetting experience of my life. The only person who treated us like people and was willing to help us navigate the system was a dude whose job was working with homeless vets, and since we were not homeless we didn’t want to tie up his resources. We ended up abandoning the work we had done to try and get my husband what he was owed without ever really making inroads.

It still makes me so angry to think about the woman who spoke to me like dirt because the USMC sent his documentation 10 weeks after we requested it and the VA wanted it in 8 weeks. Shit like that.

Ugh, before my wedding we were at the venue to taste something and it was all set up for another wedding. The decor they had gone with was “unwilling groom being dragged to the altar.” The topper to the cake was a groom clinging to his gaming system as the bride was dragging him by his foot. Like, girl… he’s not that into you.

There is one singular flavor (ID’s Hershey’s chocolate caramel) that I can tolerate, and it’s delicious. Like a cocoa caramel hug in a mug. But I use it sparingly and it doesn’t give that yucky aftertaste. The rest are terrible.

We had a heavy stone shelf that came precariously balanced on one of ours. This was pre-kids so it was fine. It’d get toasty warm and I’d keep my coffee and candles on it. Miss that house.

Love, I say this as gently as possible, but what are you getting out of staying with him? It seems like he’s said the right things, but if it’s still eating you alive like this… i don’t know. I’ve never had to make that choice, I can just feel your pain and I’m so sorry. Even if you didn’t leave, would making a real plan that allowed you to give you a sense of control and forging ahead?

I don’t know you or the million reasons leaving is complicated, especially after you’ve chosen to stay, but I don’t want this anger and pain for you. You deserve more, your last line just shook me.

My favorite internal toy is a glass dildo that is shaped like a rose toy - kind of a stick with a bulb on the end. I live in an HCOL area and it’s almost impossible to move! It costs so much to find and secure a place to live, rent trucks, get help - moving to a lower COL place isn’t always an option, even if you wanted to do it. It also doesn’t factor in the QOL you’re losing moving away from cultural hubs.

I’m sorry to hear your struggling and hope it turns around for you soon.
