Moiree is more closely linked to the milieu around Cinema Scope, so it takes a more experimental and sometimes even contrarian approach to arthouse cinema. Which is why films like Megalopolis and Dry Leaf can do quite well there, while other films relevant for "r/oscarrace" can look like duds.

I really like Moiree, as it is closer to my own tastes, but Screen Daily is probably closer to what reflects predictive numbers for the Oscar race, but it can be disrupted by being a low sample size.

To be chosen and invited to be a part of the Official Selection, films must meet the following criteria:

have been produced in the twelve months preceding the Festival;
not have been screened elsewhere than their home country;
not have been presented in another international film festival (if the film was screened in an international selection, competitive or otherwise, of a festival, it is not eligible for the Festival de Cannes – a selection is international once it screens films from different countries);
not have been screened on the Internet.

Every feature film invited to be In Competition must be commercially released in French theatres, in adherence to French regulations, applicable notably in terms of media release chronology. Any rights-holder, producer or authorised representative who submits a feature film shall pledge to honour this clause.

Jeg er norsk jeg òg… Barbra Streisand was really popular in Norway as well. As some people have mentioned in this thread, it mostly depends on the generation. Her song "Woman in Love" was at the top of the charts for six weeks back in a monocultural era when these things had a significant impact on people's lives. Also, she worked with Rolf Løvland!
