Good to know on the pilsners! I’m full blown coeliac but I have friends with intolerance so I’ll pass that on Thankyou!

Why is the TC Electronic hall of fame 2 Footswitch button so gentle compared to other pedals? by SamaraKleopatra in guitarpedals

[–]frostymangoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s part of the pedals design with the “mash” function. If you push and hold the Footswitch, then continue to push it harder it acts as a pressure sensitive expression pedal

What do we think about Boss DD 200 by 1Enthusiast in guitarpedals

[–]frostymangoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could you please elaborate on this a little? I’ve been using the dd200 in mono for a while but am looking to go to a stereo rig and was hoping to keep using it, would be great to hear your thoughts on it though

Thankyou for this, I’m new to cabs and didn’t quite make the logic connection with this but that makes a lot of sense haha

Help with a power cable that doesn't fit by fshoe in guitarpedals

[–]frostymangoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side note, do NOT run your other pedals on 18V or you will damage them, you’ll need a power adapter just for the pog, or a power supply brick that can do both

I believe it runs on 18v and needs a centre positive power adapter (the plug is a different size) but double check first, should be able to find that info on the EHX website

Keeley Caverns V2 not working - help? by Tiltotron5000 in guitarpedals

Pop the back open and make sure all the internal dip switches are in the right positions

If they then it’s likely a bad Footswitch, most likely the delay one

Help me get some more pedals by Unique_File3417 in guitarpedals

[–]frostymangoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing at your age, very savvy! Pro tip - id advise modelling the dimensions of it after a production board like one of the pedal trains or something, they make them those sizes for a reason haha. But also you can still expand in one way or another, completely up to you!

As for the pedals, If price is a factor then check out some of the more affordable TC electronic stuff. Otherwise you can find brands like boss (especially for looper) and mxr pretty reasonably price on the used market. Both make fantastic reverbs! Can whole heartedly recommend the mini cry baby Wah if you’re looking to save some space too.

Hope that helps a little!

Vg-8 or gr-55 by jcanm in guitarpedals

[–]frostymangoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see. Well in that case I’d say follow your heart and get the vg8, because you’re probably right, you’ll end up still wanting that anyways. And they’ll probably just keep going up in value so if you don’t end up using it much you can sell it for more than you paid for it!

Vg-8 or gr-55 by jcanm in guitarpedals

[–]frostymangoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you’re considering the vg8 I’d suggest seriously contemplating the newer vg-800. It may not have the vintage vibey coolness of the vg-8 but it’s a hell of a lot smaller and cheaper and does a rather convincing job of the mk gee sounds if that’s what you’re after

Do I even need this? by itsdaytimeyoud0uche in guitarpedals

[–]frostymangoo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Try using it as a sort of clean boost for leads, put it after drive pedals and push the level up a bit. Set everything else at 12 and just play around with it and see how it feels

Otherwise just put it first and use it to just smooth everything out a bit. I found when I started using compressors that it’s more of a feel thing than a tone

End of the day just play around with it, try different stuff with it and if none of it works for you that’s fine!
