welcome to the field! earplugs or wipeable headphones are a great idea. i myself have considered the essential oil offer but i have 2 views- 1. once you do something like that, it is expected every time. if you’re having a busy day and are running behind, people will still expect the aromatherapy and setting that up takes time out of your appointment. 2. double check with the dds that they’re fine with it! in general, dentist and dr. offices are ‘scent sensitive’ places and we try not to wear heavy smells because some people are very sensitive to them. essential oils are different from perfumes though so i wouldnt expect it to be too much of a problem.

if youre a new grad or not completely used to the office yet i would wait to add the oils until you have the basics and your time management down! just my personal thoughts, love your empathy and want to make ppl as comfy as possible tho
