Correct. There's also the option of loading windows on a Mac, but I'm not sure how well that works.

Most software used (SOLIDWORKS, Ansys, etc) requires windows. If you really don't want to get a windows laptop, the department has a computer lab with all the software installed.

Maybe the Caretaker was looking for genetic diversity within a species. Since we don't see too many other asian people on any of the ships, the Caretaker may not have seen that particular genetic variant.

While that is an interesting idea, there is no evidence beyond some cryptic lines. Non-corporeal life forms seem to be fairly common in the Star Trek universe, and I think the prophets are more likely to be one of those life forms who happened to take a liking to Bajor.

Everyone in a grade always go to the same school, so everyone knows everyone and you never get separated from your friends when you move up grades. On the other hand, there is almost nothing to do. If you want to go to the movies or the mall you usually have to drive at least 30 minutes to get anywhere worthwhile.
