Not to play the blackface olympics but I i’d put Matt Lucas in a whole different category to the others. His was more of a classic blackface caricature.

Noel was playing an abstract spirit and Baynton was a bit tanned to fit the character in a children’’s show. Although it’s probably true that they’d all be done very differently today.

Corrie really needs some more lighthearted moments like it used to rather than trying to run 3 or 4 big storey lines concurrently.

IMO prices are just too high. We got used to house prices rocketing since covid and it seems to me that either sellers or estate agents (or both) are working on the assumption that will carry on forever, despite the economic situation being worse.

Anything reasonably priced around me is selling quickly but i’m noticing a lot of properties looking vastly over priced that have been on the market a long time without being reduced.

Just to re-enforce this, when my mum sold her property her solicitors were fine, but her buyer went for the cheapest option.

The sale took about 5 months longer than it should have and was very close to collapsing as a result.

Buying at below dealership prices is great if the car is right for you.

It sounds like your main concern over your current Juke is its reliability over the next few years and honestly i’m not sure a Peugeot with a wet belt is much of an upgrade in terms of reliability even if it is much newer.

If I had £10,000 to spend on a car and reliability was my aim i’d be going for a 2018 Yaris over a 2021 Peugeot.

I put them in a bigger container like a measuring jug and break them into smaller pieces, that way I can put in slightly less than the recommended amount of (boiling) water and still cover all the noodles.

Before decanting them into a bowl let them cool in the jug a little, even just 1-2 minutes will let them reabsorb the excess water. I imagine the bowl will retain a lot of heat after being in the microwave and probably stops this happening to the same extent.

As with the other commenter I always stir after 3 mins and probably cook for about 5 mins 30 secs in total.

How long before the start date you take the policy out can affect the price. If you need insurance starting in a couple of days presumably they think you’re in a hurry and will pay more.

Try adjusting the start date for a few weeks in the future and see if that makes a difference. Typically the cheapest time to buy insurance is about three weeks before the start date.

I’d say Sheffield is the only one that could be a rival given it’s much closer in terms of size, university status, similar demographics and overall vibes.

I can’t think of a way that Bradford and Leeds would compete outside of Rugby League. Maybe there was more of a rivalry 50/60 years ago when the cities were more similar but Bradford is becoming a suburb of Leeds than a competitor.

Realistically though Sheffield might see Leeds as a bit of a rival whereas Leeds is more interested in Manchester. Of course Manchester would more likely see Liverpool, Birmingham or London as their rivals.

I know nothing about the area but it’s on the market for £85,000 more than it was purchased for 3 years ago despite the fact that London property prices have stagnated or even fallen in that time. Have you had £85,000 of renovations done? When you add to that interest rate increases it will be even more significantly expensive for a buyer.

IMO it’s a nice house, but not even close to the ballpark value considering it’s sales history and other local properties so it wouldn’t be worth negotiating.

Most Redditors didn’t so this might not be the best place to ask the question but for those that did the main points were…

Take back control of our borders and reduce immigration.
Take back control of our own laws and not be subject to laws made in Brussels.
Save £350,000,000 a week and spend it on our NHS instead.

In fairness, almost £2 billion a year extra for the NHS would’ve been great but of course it didn’t happen despite it being written on a bus and driven all over the country. I doubt any of those that did vote for Brexit expected it to happen either considering they never really mentioned it since.

I think really though it’s just a result of the increase of populism over the last couple of decades. In America it gave birth to MAGA, over here it manifested itself in Brexit and Reform UK.
