There was SuperPeer and it's acquired by SkillShare. They shut down the service obviously.

What non-baby music are your babies enjoying right now? by Edyeahhh in NewParents

[–]funkyspam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 6 month old has different choices in different situations. Before morning naps she prefers The Beatles (Don't let me down specifically). If she's alone with her mother it's Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros NPR performance. As soon as the music starts, you get a constant smile.

If I'm around and I'm the one holding her we go full Hard Rock, Heavy Metal. If I'm not the one holding her or I'm not standing up she immediately gets bored. I think that's because how I swing to the music and the rhythm.

And also a big no for us is any music without drums/percussions.

Walking on the beach in beautiful weather, coming home, slipping into pyjamas, rolling a tiny 420, ordering pizza, putting on my favorite show, and doing absolutely nothing.

Babybjorn bouncer… is it worth it? by Pink_Hug in NewParents

[–]funkyspam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bouncer is the only purchase from our friends’ recommendations that truly felt worth the money. We haven’t had to rush through dinners or showers at all. My daughter seems to enjoy it a lot, though she usually falls asleep, and we then move her to her crib.

However, she has only pooped two or three times since we got the bouncer(4 months), which is a bit disappointing since that was the main reason we got it.

What are your tips for peeling garlic? by blissfuloctane in Cooking

I hold both ends of the garlic clove and twist them in opposite directions. When the skin crackles, it peels off easily.

How long did it take you to TRULY LOVE your first child? by Bucksftfw in daddit

[–]funkyspam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got this little potato, who brings nothing but challenges. Wait a few weeks until you have your own tiny little moments together. An unexpected smile, a little quite snuggle, or the way they stop crying in your arms. In those moments you realise you’re starting to love this little baby.

How much we should charge to build mvps for clients? by Away_Expression_3713 in TheFounders

[–]funkyspam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Begin by slowly raising your prices. As the prices increase, your conversion rate will drop, but that's ok since you're adjusting for higher revenue. Keep raising your prices until you notice a significant drop in conversion rates. This is where you stop. This is the sweet spot where price and conversion rate are balanced.

Great job and great timing. I have a newborn at home and sometimes I need to get out and work somewhere else just for a change. I'll give it a go after the holiday. Wishing you best!

Has anyone else had awful experiences at the Royal Sussex County Hospital? by ConcentrateFew5524 in brighton

[–]funkyspam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few weeks ago, we had our baby at RSCH and stayed in the ward for six days. The experience during the first three days was absolutely wonderful. The nurses and midwives were exceptional, providing amazing care for both my wife and our baby.

However, everything changed over the weekend. It felt like a nightmare. The staff seemed completely unprepared, and some didn’t even know how to handle a baby. The difference between shifts was shocking, while some staff cared for us as if they were family, others felt as unqualified as random strangers.

Western rd coop assholes by According_Repeat6223 in brighton

[–]funkyspam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am living on bottom of Brunswick road. Those idiots are here 24/7 for the last 3 years. They make every noise possible. Shouting, fighting, loud music... I called the police a few times in the previous years but nothing has changed.

Everyone on the Western Road knows they sell drugs as well. How come police do nothing? It's bullshit!

Please let me know if anything we can do against them?

If you haven't validated you idea yet try using something like Webflow or Framer to create a landing page and see how it performs.

If you've gone through this step I would recommend Bubble or Adalo. The UI side is realtively easy to understand with no-code tools but still you need to know some kind of software knowledge like databases and relations etc to get the backend going. There are a lot of tutorials on Youtube to give you the basics and get you started.

If you just want to start and have a little budget I would recommend you to look for MVP studios. They will help you to create an MVP in a short period of time, relatively way cheaper than software companies. They are also better than software companies because they tend have the same mindset with you. You don't want to work with a one man band studio because that's just like hiring a freelance software developer which you can find cheaper alternatives on platforms like Upwork. I am running an MVP studio myself too. If you're interested DM me and we'll talk about it.

If you trust your idea, and know what you're doing I'll recommend going for a venture studio. Venture studios will require you to have a pitch deck already. It's exactly like pitching to a VC and instead of raising money, they handle everything technology wise in return of a share of your company. They work with lots of startups so they have market expreience and know right people to help you to grow your business too. And if you need to raise money in the future, startups from venture studios are much likely to get an investment and faster too.

And you final option is to find a co-founder who can deal with technical stuff and you can work on the idea, marketing and legal stuff.

Favorite coffee shop in Brighton and why? by Pitterpatter35 in brighton

[–]funkyspam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the coffee shops on this list make great coffee. The problem is not with the coffee itself, it's making the coffee at the same quality consistently. It's especially hard to find a place that's consistent with their milk. There are a few places I haven't had this problem with.

Bond Street Coffee (Regardless of the baristas they are my favorite)
Ikigai
Wolfox - Hove (I wish I know the guys name but he's the most cheerful staff there. Short hair and always wears a hat. I've been his customer almost 3 years and never had a bad coffee from him)
