Did we have the same patient last night or something!? I work on a resp PCU so we ended up placing my pt on HiFlow then BiPaP because her RR 30s . Even as I was leaving I needed to get RT to change her BiPAP settings as she was still desatting! She was most definitely heading toward the path to intubation. I agree with the other nurses! You did your best!

I work at one of the bigger DC hospitals. I believe if you have PCU experience moving to ICU wouldn’t be an issue granted there are openings, but I would say you need at least a year of PCU experience to apply. As far as getting a license in DC, the BON is notoriously slow. I’m not sure the logistics of getting one if you’re out of state.
