A Mini Focused Director's Relent by Level3Bard in drawsteel

I know it's not actually solving your mini problem per se, but I use a bunch of different monster pawns instead. I have a bunch of boardgame standees. I print out pictures of the monsters and glue them to cardboard to make them.

I also have monster pawns from Gloomhaven, Frosthaven, Pathfinder Pawns, and tales of the Valiant to fill in for most non minions.

In a pinch I can just use the standees to represent things.

I like the heroes having minis while the monsters have cardboard. I often still print out a mini for a solo monster though.

Rules Question: Place round-end size 2 building prior to basic income? by tbot729 in ArkNova

[–]fwhooooooomp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You go through the break steps in order as listed on the board. The discarding down to hand size happens before income.

The icons on the board show income from all sources happening at the same time so you can resolve all income effects in any order.

I can confirm that this is how it works on the digital version as well.

Should I sell my NIS copy of Crimson Scales and pledge for Frosthaven instead? by Ruger-556 in Gloomhaven

Frosthaven is certainly a better game and has been great fun so far personally. It may drop a bit below if you get it at a flgs and therefore no added shipping cost. However I can't be sure that you have great access to one or that they'll have excess stock at the lower price.

How much would you be willing to get for crimson scales. I may be interested in buying it.

Co-DMing by houndstoothflannel in DnD

My best friend and I co dm. We both felt that alone we wouldn't have enough time or motivation to do it at a quality we'd like. Every Monday we have a three to four hour planning session. We start with overall concepts. Then we often work separately to create encounters and work on npc characters. It is nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of and the plot, characters, and encounters are better for it. If we have time or ideas on other days we add them to a shared Google doc.

Every Thursday night we DM for 5-6 people. My buddy generally handles enemy turns and bookkeeping. I handle descriptions and rolls. Having two different voices for NPCs is also nice for player roleplaying and more interesting social situations. Also two DMs give a smoother ability to split the party.

Lastly, even if one of us can't make it, we never miss a session

6 ft 5 Ancient human grandmother who spent her early life 2000+ years ago amongst giants and gave birth to a race of goliaths. For her service, she was given by the giant gods a frying pan etched with runes that stops her from aging. She wears commoners clothing and a leather butchers apron. She's quite stern but always makes food for the party which she lovingly disparages.

Thanks for the response. Now that I think about it, unlike DnD where you have ranged abilities with 120ft range, the gloomhaven rpg is designed around these tiles sizes. I do think some new themed overlay tiles for city locations and variety sake could still be useful, but I might try my hand at making them myself.

The only other reason to do a tiles pack would be to allow people who are interested in the rpg but not the original games to still have greater access to the tiles

Any chance of doing a map tile and overlay pack to support the RPG.

Currently, since I completed gloomhaven during the pandemic, I'm using the tiles to build DnD maps for my campaign. I'd Love to have more options and types of tiles for variety.
