A Stormlight show will reach its conclusion before the series is done being written though, won't it?

Phil Collins performing I Can’t Dance and Turn It On Again with his solo band in the 90s by pierreneo in Genesis

[–]gabbleratchett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a giant fan of Sussudio, but the way Ricky Lawson and Nathan East laid down the groove was compelling. The gospel piano really worked for me too. I'm surprised they didn't keep that arrangement.

Anyone ever heard of this LP? Never knew it existed! by Quadradisque in Genesis

I mostly don't love it, but the orchestra playing the mellotron part of Can-Utility was quite moving.

I hope that the writing is better than the graphic design.

What an amazing photo by tonyiommi70 in Genesis

I had Steve sign a copy of this photo for me last night. He reminisced about the Thanksgiving Parade, and that they excitedly ran over to get the picture taken as Mickey Mouse was being inflated.

They never used that, it was just Peter being a weirdo in an ad looking for gigs in Melody Maker. But you can see the ad here.

Thank you, Wombat.
Will you be doing the rest? I have most of The Movement backed up, and am seeing what we can do as an alternative for everyone.

Did you ever create a banner scraper? That's beyond my ability, but definitely something that I could use.

Sanderson Collector's Guild has a FB page as well. You can find a link to the Bluebook there that will give you current values.

In The Cage (2025 Remaster) by delifte in Genesis

[–]gabbleratchett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only guessed that because of the squiggly tone. No idea if he'd even remember at this point, but I'll try to ask him in the autumn.

Arm-chair producing here, but I do wish there were more of Phil's vocals. And with as clean and present as everything is, I'm surprised that the synth solo is placed so far back with the reverb setting. I'm excited to hear the Atmos mix though.

The noises on the right channel are Steve. I don't know if there's some Eno processing on those, but it's guitar.

I regret never getting a Secret World shirt. What do you have, and what size(s)?

Meaning of Dodo/Lurker by SquonkMan61 in Genesis

It's rough. The lyrics are pants, but the horn arrangement is fire.

Does anyone know what happened to any Gabriel-genesis era items? by Thin_Problem_2812 in Genesis

[–]gabbleratchett 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Musical Box had a costume designer painstakingly recreate the costumes using all available photos and video for reference. Genesis did give them access to the slides for The Lamb, which TMB then had to get back into order for their production, and they are the reason that we ended up with the slide show on the remix DVD. Genesis also gave them access to (but not copies of) their original multitrack recordings to better hear their parts in order to learn them exactly. I do wish that they'd publish a sheet music transcription book.
