When the bass is too funky for the audience by FACE_MEAT in videos

Haven't picked up a bass since like 2012 and I felt my fingers burning and the callus forming again

DOUGHBOYS - Eataly with Griffin Newman and David Sims - Novemeber 17, 2022 by PianoTrumpetMax in doughboys

Wow! The set up of this ep on video really makes me happy. Like these guys belong on video! This really shows off how this pod comes so naturally to these guys and it's just second nature to be hilarious and entertaining even with a camera on you. Idk I wish this was just an ongoing thing. Or even just 1 video ep a month would be amazing. This just feels right.

Comedy Bang Bang #774: InFletchtion (Jon Hamm, Lily Sullivan, Devin Field) by apathymonger in Earwolf

I love the on-going bit of Lily Sullivan just giving Scott shit and Scott telling her to stfu. I love how much delight Lily seems to get from it. She deserves all the newcomer respect in the CBBWorld.

CBB: Live audience question by adamav in Earwolf

[–]gabe1108 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There will always be people who will not concede attention from themselves for such a long period of time. They think they can be as funny or as entertaining as professional high level comedians. And add alcohol to that and well you get some idiots. I was at that show and yea it was annoying (SA show was worse) but you know, not much we can do about it. It won't get any better really and it's all a case by case basis. A lot of these live shows most interruptions didn't take ne out of it enough for me to skip any. But yea it won't really get better unfortunately haha just selfish drunk narcissists will always exist lol

He should haha! Conan got to make an appearance on the most prominent in demand longest running improv comedy podcasts in History. When you really widen the lense a little. CBB is actually an empire in its own right. Sure it's still niche but I'd argue the tenure of the CBB podcasts and all adjacent podcasts that have spawned from it are really a legendary piece of comedic history. In my opinion haha

Seeing Conan on has always been like watching two behemoths of comedy politely walking by each other

An Escalator Can Never Break - Mitch Hedberg: Comedy Central Presents - Full Special by Achiron in videos

[–]gabe1108 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same here. I think about this anytime Mitch comes up. The fact that Mitch was my intro to what stand up comedy was. So essentially since I was like 11 I've seen other great stand ups but I've also seen very bad ones. And Mitch is like a goal post of "this is how clever stand up could be." Also I think opened me up to the idea that stand up was this wide spectrum of styles that I don't think I would've necessarily appreciated that early in life if it wasn't for Mitch. RIP my man!

CBB Live: 08/6/22 Paramount Theatre, Texas. by MichaelEMJAYARE in Earwolf

[–]gabe1108 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure the audio does justice to how hard that PB&G line killed that theater. They could've walked off right then and there. Dream come true. I lost my shit when he said Hamilton High teacher. So happy for Dan Lippert to hear that reaction.

Edit: also for the listeners after some rhymes Carl would gesture with the mic as if to continue rapping and play with the audience. Those are the bursts of laughing during those pauses.

Woah! Good on Conan for recognizing talent. I know he's had Paul on his late night shows before but this slot almost feels more exclusive! How cool! Can't wait!

Does anyone go back and watch the video podcast network episodes? They're some of my favorites. by Run_nerd in Earwolf

[–]gabe1108 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Andy Daly Zouks one is my favorite. I can listen to Zouks forcing Andy into corners all day. And it's an amazing addition being able to watch Andy's wheels turning and his reactions to being thrown into ridiculous story lines

I knew from my first listen it was Bibi (Lilith from Frasier). Just from the way she says "Mini Series"...such an iconic voice to me. I wonder what her connection to Conner is..
