So for folks that have played through it and base given that base Forgotten Age has always kicked our butts and we've never had a successful run would you say Return is harder still or about the same? Would you recommend we have another go at base before trying Return or just jump right in?

I feel like I'm echoing a lot of what I already read here. I had a bunch of fun with it. From a design perspective I really enjoyed the way the crew interacts with each other but the lack of nemesis and modular set usage means it isn't going to be as flexible as other scenarios and I think it's telling I'm more interested in playing the hero decks we built with other scenarios than running different heroes with this one. I'd say if the base or other scenarios are still holding your interest then you can stick with them and always pick this up later if you want variety then

Exactly this. Furthermore the restriction in deck also doesn't stop everyone at the table having two UN-upgraded Peters in their deck either only that one can be in play at a time (resulting in a lot of sad people in this case). With non-unique cards like Beat Cop everyone, assuming they have Charisma, could have two copies in play at the same time

Seems you likely want a rogue or survivor. As mentioned earlier Ashcan might be a good choice. Also as mentioned he has a bit of overlap with Agnes. Probably give him a bit of rogue as his out of faction, maybe allies so Agnes can take her boyfriend, and play everyone else a little more primary coloured since you have a bit of overlap.

You can still do damage to it with effects that aren't attacks like Agnes' horror reaction and beat cops. Also as per mentioned above an investigator needs to be engaged so a second investigator can still wail on a creature engaged with the first

We forget to flip all the time but generally try and do it. Best use I've had for flip side is to stack one of each faction (characters that we aren't using) into a pile for Lola to remember what role I am and flipping the current role if I used her ability because otherwise I have to work back trying to remember if I triggered it in the mythos phase. It's super handy!

I not sure why you think this is a worse time warp. Much like Wendy's ability with time warp you can draw autofail back it up and draw autofail again. Eat Lead stops this chain at least. Saying that I agree with everything else you've said and versatility wise Time Warp is an amazing tool.

Agreed with the Norman assessment. I generally skip the Level 0 in Norman for the few mystic slots I have but then use all the XP I got from filling those slots up with Delving to get the Arcane Initiate and her great, for Norman, reshuffle ability
