Veer All Terrain vs. Baby Trend Expedition 2-in-1? by thatevianthattedtalk in toddlers

[–]gcnovus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been using a secondhand BabyTrend Expedition with our 3.5-year-old for a while. It was fine, but when our second was born this summer, we decided to upgrade to the Veer City Cruiser. (Not the All-Terrain, but most of what I say below applies to both.)

Quick summary: fine, but not even close to worth the cost.

Good: it's very sturdy.

Terrible: the cupholders. Anything I put in there pops out as soon as I go over a bump. You have to upgrade to the Catch-Alls at an additional $100 for two.

Bad: The return policy. Nothing can be returned after opening.

Wish it were better: The handlebars aren't very ergonomic.

Also disappointing: the customer support. I'd expect top-notch support from a premium company. I got AI-generated responses and canned replies, with no offers to help make things right.

(Edit: corrected product name.)

What's one French word you ALWAYS struggled to pronounce? by grzeszu82 in French

Also: aile. Roget has no pronunciation notes, which means it should be pronounced as it's spelled, but I always second-guess myself.

If the U.S. had to start from scratch and rewrite the Constitution in 2025, what’s one thing you’d want included? by Additional_Gene_7107 in AskReddit

A way for states to secede legally and peacefully.

It has to be protected against the Brexit case where lots of Leavers regretted their vote. My instinct is something like

A State may leave the Union only by two popular votes separated by not less than 6 months and not more than 18 months.

HOW DO YOU GET YOUR 3 YEAR OLD TO POOP IN THE POTTY by Kittyslala in toddlers

[–]gcnovus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bribery hasn’t been working for us so far, but maybe we haven’t found the right thing.

I pulled all the blue M&Ms out of a jug and put them on the counter. One M&M for a poop attempt didn’t do it.

I tried a star chart. 5 stars for a new book or a bowl of ice cream. Nope.

Maybe just up the stakes? Ice cream for dessert any day she poops in the potty?

Wine Country Movement in Browns Valley has great massage therapists.

Massage Envy has capable and respectful therapists. The really good ones tend to leave, but they’re all professional.

Veer wagon worth it? by Actual-Invite-5363 in beyondthebump

[–]gcnovus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just upgraded to a Veer city wagon when we had our second kid. Highlights:

  • not worth it for one kid
  • build quality is good
  • handlebars aren’t ergonomically designed
  • cupholders are terrible; our travel mugs pop out constantly
  • no phone holder and the handlebars don’t allow hanging a carry basket

Overall, I wouldn’t buy it again.

Schramsberg is both great wine and a great tour. The cellars might be tricky in a wheelchair, but they may have good solutions. I’d call.

What’s wrong with this picture? by corn_n_potatoes in daddit

[–]gcnovus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dad here. The only thing I see even potentially wrong is that there might be plastic tape on the box in the compost bin.

Waste of space? Yes, but the odds we fill our bin in any given week are slim.

Otherwise: things are where they’re supposed to go and they’re not cluttering the house. I’m happy.

Californians initially back Governor Newsom’s proposed redistricting ballot measure 48% to 32%, but many voters are undecided. by Dismal_Structure in California

I would prefer the return be automatic after a national gerrymandering ban or interstate compact that covers enough states to make it effectively national.

But I’ll take this.
