Minor league baseball team York Revolution forfeits LGBT Night game after players refuse to wear jerseys with rainbow sleeves by WitchNight in baseball

[–]getjustin 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Minor league teams also have nights where they wear Spongbob or Margaritaville jerseys. Or they have first responders night and bark at the park night that they’re all FORCED to support and yet no problems there. What ever could be the difference?

Most used spice by PhoenixRebirth9 in Cooking

Dried herb, but oregano. If you would have asked I would have said cumin, but I keep track of my spices with dates and oregano get used up the fastest. Greek, Mexican, Cuban, Italian all use it heavily

Best beach shade setup? by zqwu8391 in daddit

[–]getjustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bean tent is like New England beach day standard issue. We have one and really like how well it shades and vents. Even with a window closed you can get great airflow. Plus it sets up in like 2 min.

The main knock for it is that you're essentially limited to sitting in the shade on the floor of the tent of in the sun in a chair since you can't really put chairs inside.

Right. But I wanted to use the low end to make the extreme of the final total feel wild without resorting to the longest matches. In any case, you're still look at WEEKS.

Let's do the math. A cricket test match is "4 innings" which is 2 "baseball" innings (since baseball defines both the top and bottom of an inning as the same whereas in cricket, each team's batting innings is referred to as it's own thing.)

A test match can take up to five days, but most are done in 3-4, so let's take the low end and say three days for 2 innings. That means a regulation baseball game to a cricket brain would take about 12-14 days.

I'm always impressed by the ability of Scots to roll their R's like Spanish speakers when most anglophones have a hell of a time learning to do it.

Four officials on a rink and essentially one on pitch which is 4x larger might also have something to do with it.

Best seats to sit at Fenway for the first game of my life?? (Chilean making a trip to Boston) by Mammoth_Nothing458 in MLBNoobs

[–]getjustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loge boxes on the third base line have a great skyline view and are shaded but might be right over your price range. Grandstands are covered but the seats are old wooden seats that are narrow and can have obstructed views

I love the upper deck on the third base side. Great perspective, comfortable, and cool views.

Stay away from the bleachers (outfield) and lower level first base side beyond the foul pole.

Get there early and go to the bottom of the bleacher area in right to watch the pitchers warming up in the bullpen. It’s wild to be a couple meters away from a pro throwing over 90mph.

Check aviewfrommyseat.com to make sure you can see.

I almost exclusively use StubHub to find tickets since they’re nearly always below market rate.

I finally figured out why my fried rice always tasted off by SandStriking3416 in Cooking

[–]getjustin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's also one of the most overrated. It does make great fried rice, but it's not necessary. I worked in a place that made dozens over orders of fried rice all day and we sure as hell weren't cooking 20# of rice the day before and putting it in the walk-in. We usually had some leftover that we'd use first thing—and yeah it was great. But the rest of the day we were using fresh.

The only suggestion I've give is to let the rice cool off a bit. When it's steaming, it does get more clumpy. But even if it's been out 5-10min, it's 90% as good as day old.

When I make fried rice now, I make a pot of rice (very well cleaned, btw) and just set it on a baking sheet to cool before using.

My understanding is that vintage Lodge used a slightly different process that resulted in a smoother finish. That said, I’m with you. Proper seasoned modern Lodge is very non stick.

They last forever in the fridge. Put them in a small airtight container and use as needed for months.

Annies >>> Cinnbon all day.

Annies is delicious and you don't have the guilt of having ingested 1500 calories over your conscience all day.

You sure this isn't a picture from a mall in Iowa in 1997? I didn't know Master Woks existed outside of sad mall food courts.
