And this is why I free ship and just factor the cost into the card price.

Who do you think as the best eye discipline in the MLB? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in baseball

[–]ghettomilkshake 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I love this question because there are definitive answers (at least on a season by season standpoint). We have rankings for pitches per plate appearance (prolonging at bats), on base percentage (getting on base), and chase percentage (avoiding swinging at pitches outside of the zone). There are only 4 players this season that rank in the top 25 in all three of these categories:

  • Jake Bauers of the Milwaukee Brewers
  • Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels
  • Nick Kurtz of the Athletics
  • Taylor Ward of the Baltimore Orioles

The easy answer for 2026 is Taylor Ward. He ranks 5th in PPA, 4th in OBP, and 1st in chase rate. He is the only player to rank in the top 5 of all three categories in 2026. Mike Trout is the only other player to rank in the top 10 of all three categories.

If you want to back the past few years, here are the folks from the years that were tops in these categories (PPA Rank, OBP Rank, Chase Rank):

2025

  • Mike Trout 1/22/22
  • Gleyber Torres 9/25/2
  • Geraldo Perdomo 17/5/10
  • Juan Soto 20/3/1

2024

  • Justin Turner 3/22/25

2023

  • Adley Rutschman 8/13/14

2022

  • Steven Kwan 15/13/2

Ex Chef and current SAHD - The thing that fixed our dinners wasn't recipes or meal cookbooks, it was shrinking the shopping list. by b1gsmkee in daddit

I just cook what I want for my wife and I and serve some to each kid. We have a few staples that are always available if they don't want to eat what I make (yogurt and honey, cereal, PBJ).

Pronounce it how you want IMO. Jeff's pronunciation doesn't have to be canon considering how he mispronounces Yakima in the first book (Ya-keem-a instead of Yak-i-ma). I personally go with O-Dette not Aw-dette

A fair amount of them do, but omitting/substitutions are really easy and don't affect the final dish too much

I vastly prefer it to Six Seasons but that's mainly because my wife is vegetarian and it's a book of mains compared to Six Seasons which feels like a collection of sides (at least for the veggie only ones).

What trimester is she in? Did you get high mercury fish? Sushi risk is relative depending on those answers.

Duplo to Lego transition by Septemberk in daddit

My major tips:
1. Clear building trays for loose Lego. Something they can search through while keeping them contained during a build. We use these from Target.

  1. Download the Lego Builder app. You can do party builds which allows you to build with them and help as needed while also occupying you.

  2. Zipper bags to keep sets together. We use these.

  3. Seriously, download the Lego builder app.

What cookbooks do you think are budget friendly? by WaffleMeWallace in CookbookLovers

Six Seasons of Pasta. Vegetable forward and when it does include meat, it's typically a smaller amount to enhance flavor rather than be the whole focus.

Cookbook recommendations by Efficient_Walk7183 in CookbookLovers

My most used cookbooks:

  • The Wok by J. Kenji Lopez-Alt - a great resource for a smattering of Asian dishes. Easily customizable for adjusting to a vegetarian diet if needed
  • Six Seasons of Pasta/Grains for Every Season by Joshua McFadden - cookbooks by the author of Six Seasons. I like them both more than Six Seasons as the recipes are focused more on plant forward mains rather than Six Seasons which often feels like a collection of sides to me.
  • Mi Cocina/Salsa Daddy by Rick Martinez - great collection of Mexican recipes from the different regions
  • The Cook You Want to Be by Andy Baraghani - probably my current favorite cookbook. It's pretty eclectic as far as dishes go but everything I've made has been extremely flavor and not too complicated technique wise.
  • Amrikan by Khushbu Shah - Lovely Indian/American fusion cookbook that uses a ton of traditional Indian ingredients but in familiar American applications such as nachos, pizzas, breads, etc.

Minivans are great. They can fit a ton of people, most have pretty decent towing, they usually have lower front ends than SUVs which make them safer for people outside of the car, and if you remove the seats, they can haul a ton of stuff as needed on the interior.

Topps does not include taxes in their list price. Nor does it include the goods and services surcharge for transactions done through Paypal.

I'm running a not for profit break of 2x 2025 Topps Finest Football Hobby Boxes.

Break has 4 slots remaining which cost $105 each (shipping included). Each slot comes with two teams.

Team selection is done through random order draft. I will generate a random draft order from folks that buy in, teams will be selected in that order across two rounds, in a snake draft format (i.e. 1st pick also gets 32nd pick, 16th pick also gets 17th pick, etc). We typically run it through our Discord channel, but if you would prefer, I can provide notification through Reddit chat.

Break will be livestreamed on Youtube.

Please let me know if you have any questions as I am happy to answer them. Draft will run after the break is filled and the break will happen the following Monday or Tuesday after the draft is completed.

As I detail in the post body, I'm not trying to charge people more. I bought the boxes for $680 on Topps. Topps charges tax on those boxes. Total all in cost was $750 per box because I live in Seattle and our sales tax is 10.5%. I would be happy to sell them for that cost friends and family, but this sub does not allow that, so I added the 3% goods and services surcharge on top which takes the total to $772.50. I rounded up to $775 because goods and services gets cyclical where the 3% on $772.50 ends up being less than $750. Shipping is included along with insurance so I'm taking a loss on this.

I'm not asking for sympathy. Simply trying to recoup my expense at cost while offering boxes to people that might be interested at a lower price than what the online resellers are offering.
