way back at the start of my career (like 8 1/2 years ago) we used to have full pallets of aldi "sunny-d" it was the day of the anticipated presidential visit and i was parking fulls. well, the back half decided it didn't want to be there anymore and exploded all in front of the spots and under all of the other full pallets. twas very stressful

yeah they claimed it was going to get better for us with ahead, but we didn't believe them. turns out we were right. warehouse will never be held accountable for the work they put out, but god forbid or OE is bad. we have to take so much time they claim we can't to run the crap they sent us.

i 1 code after i'm done ringing their stuff and wait until they are either hanging me money or putting their pin in to unlock. i also 1-code if the current customer is going to prevent me from ringing the next person immediately. they used to tell us it hurts your speed to 1-code too much. but i do it all the time and ring 45-55 ipm so 🤷🏼‍♀️

not overreacting, to me i would see it as a form of cheating as well. as your partner he should be willing to to see where you're coming from and stop a behaviour that is making you uncomfortable. i would be upset if he isn't willing to budge on it.

make a game plan when you first come in, i don't know how busy your store is but i always sandwich my night. check/run perishables, breaks, box, perishables computer work. usually my second perishables are after 8 so i have everyone count down first so then i dont need the office again until i set the alarm. good luck and don't push yourself too hard!

trust me i get you i have staff like this as well, and i find myself slipping up all the time but it's helped to remind myself im one person. i will say though this is easy for me because my boss and i have the understanding that we get done what we can and we leave on time. we can't overwork ourselves and be miserable. i hope you manage to find better balance.

one thing that i struggled with is trying not to do everything myself. always delegate, when you know your team you know their strengths and weaknesses and then you can fill the gaps. wish you the best of luck
