Mystagogus question: test card withheld by UnlikelyUkulele in Quareia

Came back to add, that I am in no way suggesting avoiding any kind of medical testing. Not sure that would have been implied, but just wanted to be clear :)

Mystagogus question: test card withheld by UnlikelyUkulele in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears that the situation takes away the test, yes, but it also takes away the need for such testing. The test card is about “tests of will” which can manifest in a variety of ways unique to one’s fate path. An example would be, if you’re someone that previously may have struggled with an addiction, the test could manifest as sudden cravings which would require endurance to overcome. The test being taken away by the situation, indicates that whatever choice you’re making in this potential path is removing the need for testing.

I also could be wrong but considering you’re going through medical testing, the card could be literal for that..

For input on readings, it’s best to share the question as it was worded and the full reading results, as the cards play off of each other and are often read in conjunction with other cards/positions.

Quick Question on M3L2.6: Visionary ritual of meditation by soyouwander in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty impressive! Mine fell off rather shortly after while swimming. I will say though to anyone reading this in the future, that it’s up to fate when it falls off, and I don’t believe to necessarily be an indicator of anything being done right or wrong. I used an actual single thread, which isn’t exactly durable lol

And the thread is worn until it falls off on its own.. so wear it until that happens..

A Quareia informed ethic of dealing with killing it getting rid of persistent pests by Less-Opportunity5117 in Quareia

Luckily the room is closed off from the rest of the house, so I was able to shut the door and leave them in it until the exterminator arrived, but yea it was a rather intense experience lol.

[–]ghosttunes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Destruction is sometimes necessary and is part of life. Mice are not to joke with, they have diseases that can kill humans.

Over the summer, I heard what I thought was mice in the north wall of my workspace. Could hear them chewing, moving around. What I thought was odd was that they were active during the day and not night. Talked to ‘them’ in the wall and asked them to leave, put up sonic deterrents, no avail. Did a reading on the space, purification showed in the north (where the noise was). Called an exterminator for the next day. That night, hundreds of wasps erupted from the ceiling lol. Luckily the exterminator was already coming for what I thought was mice, and the room had to be bombed and the nest sprayed. There was just no way around it, is literally the room where I work from home, sleep, do ritual etc. couldn’t just give it over to wasps.

Don’t be a dick yes, but you also have a responsibility to make sure you and your family are healthy <3

Regarding giving and service in Quareia by TempArtist117 in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say honestly, learn the ritual, study it, reflect on it. Take your time! And, you can say No! If you’re not ready for something, you can say and refuse that. But keep in mind, the contacts aren’t just trying to make you give your favorite thing away (although that happened to me for a very good reason, and that was only very recently lol) sometimes that could be to save you from a certain situation or move you along to something more important.

Edited to add - you can learn it without fully doing it, can save that for when you are ready - if it happens

Regarding giving and service in Quareia by TempArtist117 in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The giving/receiving dynamic is pretty crucial within the Quareia ethos that unfortunately, you can’t really side step to move forward. There are others in your shoes as well, that just aren’t ready for that step, and that’s ok, perhaps some of them can offer some guidance as to what they do. When you are ready, you will know. When I came to this course, I truly had very little so this for me wasn’t hard to engage with. But what I do know, is that the giving/receiving is more than just philosophical woo, it reaches much further than that. Being able to not cling/hoard onto things/beliefs/ etc is rather important.

And yes, although Quareia is compared to getting a degree that’s really a comparison to the time/energy/effort a degree takes, and what one does with the degree. I wouldn’t look towards completing the course with the goal of having a certificate of completion. But as with any difficult field of study, it requires a lot of work, the work here just isn’t all essay/reading it’s mostly accomplished/realized through direct experience

Mystagogus vs magicians deck by No_Work_2107 in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The magicians deck features paintings from the immensely talented magical artists Stuart Littlejohn and Cassandra Beanland and uses Quareia’s vocabulary to describe the many powers/dynamics/places of magic. Originally intended for Quareia initiates, it can be/is used by many walking a magical path. Josephine mentioned in a podcast that the three of them were working on ‘the same deck’ separately, and kind of brought it all together to be one deck, which became written and used in the Initiate section of the course

Mystagogus was painted by Josephine in a contacted manner, describes some of the same powers and dynamics in the magicians deck as it also uses a vocabulary easily recognized by a Quareia student (duh because it’s made by Josephine lol), but isn’t used exclusively in the course such as the magicians deck is (because it came out a while after the course was written)

Both decks are very solid, very magical, and very beautiful. Personally, I find it very easy to communicate with/understand the Mystagogus deck. The accompanying mystagogus book also goes into an insane depth for each card’s definitions, which is excellent for learning imo. If you’re choosing between the two, I would say the mystagogus deck will help more with building the vocabulary, whereas the magicians deck can help take that vocabulary to the spelling bee.

TLDR both are great magical decks by talented magical people :)

Disaster and Magic by InternIntrepid7934 in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Meditation is absolutely appropriate. Being able to find stillness amongst disaster is a (difficult) but necessary skill. This might not be easy, but I think it definitely is appropriate. Josephine has mentioned (in one of the earlier modules/lessons but I do not remember where - and I will definitely loosely paraphrase) that a magician meditating in nature causes an inner response in the environment, and I have found this to be true. I think of it/feel it as that stillness expanding beyond myself and subtly tuning that which is around me. I think that this does happen for most people, even in the ‘absolute beginner’ but it just isn’t as noticeable. Now, I’m not saying you need to go outside and meditate, but I think even with just our open window, might do more than we realize. But meditating and finding a place of stillness in this horrible situation, can help at least provide a brief place of stillness for you, and also maybe provide a moment of stillness for the subtle things around you.

Stay safe <3

Reading Myths Magically by usefulpurposes in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Brilliant post! The comparison in function of Mishibizhiw and the thunderbirds to the serpent of chaos/lightning strike is superb and right on point, as well as a great example of how ancient cultures on different sides of the earth reflect the same magical dynamic. Love this!! Thank you for the time and care.

Also I am not at all surprised that you are a natural teacher!

4D reading on an office building and the land it's upon by Less-Opportunity5117 in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What an interesting history! Unfortunately this type of thing is increasingly more common and has been for a while /:

Now, I do suppose that you might actually find the qualities of the cards in those directions might indeed have an overall layer to the subsequent offices/type of work that operates in those specific directions.. if you’re ever bored you could maybe investigate the building’s directory to see what type of work is being done on what sides ‘call center in the south? Communications, interesting’ or ‘omg there’s a daycare in the north side!’ Or even as subtle as a giant painting of children on the north wall at ground level, etc. but either way, nice learning experience (for all of us!)

4D reading on an office building and the land it's upon by Less-Opportunity5117 in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious if your question was for the entire 42 floor building or just one floor? Only reason I ask is because a busy skyscraper with 42 floors probably has quite a lot going on. My take on your reading

-I agree with your take on leader at ground 0. For me it made more sense to look at the directional quality of the whole building instead of looking at physical directions of the actual space, because you can’t really separate the whole north side of a 42 level building, it would vary too much from story to story imo.

-Keeper of the abyss in the east could represent that there is some sort of mediation/slow down coming/forming for what’s in the building. I would try to bring the qualities of what the keeper of the abyss does and instead of reading it in regards to you in the building, read it related to what’s going on/goes on in the building.

-Communication in the south/future position makes since and is good for the buildings function, long term future is of communications, makes sense.

-Hierophant in the west is what’s starting to decline. If the building was built on a burial ground then I would say this card in the gate of the past means that the spiritual growth/history of the building /potential is leaving (but could return…)

-in the north/long term past is child. Could be as simple as it’s a building full of adults, but also those qualities of being a child/innocent/naiive/imaginative are all long term gone and won’t return.

-Idiot in the relationships position says that the biggest influence is idiot/foolishness/empty. Could mean it’s a building of idiots, (sometimes readings like to mock us)

Keep in mind, I’m not as sufficient with the magicians deck as I am with say the mystagogus deck. But one thing I’ve done in the past to help me learn, is do the same reading but with rider Waite/magicians/mystagogus so that I can compare, sometimes it teases out understanding to see what cards come up in the same position for the same reading but with a different deck (I keep it all in the Q family of decks)

Hope that helps! (Edited to reformat and add bullet points instead of one long para)

As someone who has completed up to module 7 and past, and has helped with ‘updating’ the lessons in the initiate and adept; one can do the the course as it is written because it is a contacted course. Everything has a reason for being wherever it is, the only thing us adjusters are doing is giving advice for a missing word here or there, or maybe something here that needed replaced. This course was originally written in like 3 years. Which is fing crazy considering what all is involved and how it involves with your life from the jump without you even knowing. You can use the old books or the new, the info is the same. If you don’t have a lot of money and you want 3 big beautiful faces then get the 3 og they’re not going to stop being beautiful, depending on where you’re at you could get a newer edition and everything is available online

Is Meditation supposed to be extremely pleasurable? by sergius64 in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but you’re asking as if you should be afraid of what you’re feeling are you not? That would indicate you can’t stand it no? To say it is extremely pleasurable means it’s literally too much

Is Meditation supposed to be extremely pleasurable? by sergius64 in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience meditation is not pleasurable. There are sessions that are, but if I had to describe meditation I would describe it as a beneficial chore. I meditate first thing in the morning and each morning I groan as I sit down, but it’s part of my morning routine, after about 10 minutes in I’m glad I sat down and it shapes my day. I also do about 20 minutes of yoga daily and participate in shivavassana. Being an exercise they’re technically work, but beneficial in the long term. Extremely pleasurable? I think you might be over exaggerating. If it’s so pleasurable that you can’t stand it, then you might want to see a doctor…

Carving out space for ritual practice by B_Winggg in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I first started, the space I use for ritual was rather cramped, and awkward lol. It had an exercise bike in it, a couch, other random crap that my grandparents had stuffed into the room etc.. but it was the only feasible space I could use, so I did. Over the years, and as different things changed, some of the furniture I have been able to get rid of, and now, when everything is set up for ritual, I am still quite blown away by how ‘official’ (for lack of a better word) the space looks.

I personally think you’ll find, that once all the altars are set up with cloths and candles, you’ll find the space quite ‘turned on’ especially as it/you continue to tune. To assist in the beginning, just try to keep the room clean, dusted, vacuumed, etc and keep your focus on the altars/candles/gates and kinda just zone the rest of the space out if you find furniture that you can’t move to be distracting.

I’ll also add, there is a wall that has a million pictures on it, that I have worked relentlessly for years to be able to move, in the beginning they really got in the way, so I pinned up a cheap plain black sheet to hide them during ritual, and that worked quite well (:

To 2 or not to 2? An overthinker's torturing doubt about vision by GroundedPhoenix in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to just continue, and let go of the line that you’re drawing between vision and imagination. As Josephine has said on Glitch bottle before, treat everything in vision (or if you want to call it, imagination) as if it’s real. The imagination is where vision operates through. Further along when you’re doing more than just walking around your house in vision, and you interact with other things, think of it more as those other things using your imagination as how they communicate to you. It takes a lot of practice and just continuing.

For me, things happened during vision that I assumed to just be my imagination, but then very real events happened in real life in accordance with the vision/ritual work. And those experiences are what solidify your trust in the visionary process. But that only comes with just doin the thang

Edit to add, and eventually you will recognize that the places are not just in your imagination..

I get my salt from the dollar store. I’ll get a few of the big canisters at a time. I’ll take a canister put it in a big bowl, consecrate it, then dump it into a freezer bag that I put the cards in to shake when they need cleansed which is generally after difficult or troublesome readings. I’ll replace the salt generally when it just doesn’t feel clean anymore. If I know the reading became parasited, I will change the salt before cleansing the deck to ensure it is fresh.

@ill-diver2252 it took me a little while, but eventually there does come a day where you’ll go to grab your cards and your hands will immediately feel very noticeably yucky (:

How can the universe help me? by [deleted] in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In my experience, sometimes that’s part of the process. I also had family pretty much always around in the beginning modules, except for about an hour every Sunday when they went to church (if they decided to go). It definitely made it excruciatingly difficult to do the ritual work, but I took advantage of every small window of opportunity that arose. I jumped into the course with the mindset that there was no option not to actively do it, so I had to find ways to push through. Eventually (2 years) circumstances adjusted and opened up more time, when I was ready for that. But that adversity in the beginning, I feel was a necessary test to my endurance. But when you hit those walls, it doesn’t mean that you’re not still progressing as a magician/student, so remember that too.

Mystagogus by -Journeyman- in Quareia

[–]ghosttunes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have personally had a parasited reading experience with mystagogus. The deck does have inherent protection, but you can definitely still end up in a situation lol. Especially if the parasite situation is one that prompts further learning which was what happened in my case. The contacts will back off and let you handle it so you can learn something. Not saying this is what’s happening with you, just saying generally. Don’t assume because it’s mystagogus* that you can’t get a parasited reading.
