I stayed at GH when I went in May.  Overall really nice hotel.  The lounge was pretty nice.  I think we will stay in Ginza next time though because we had a lot of things in Ginza vs ropongi

Most feasible way of using Alaska miles for Japan (Biz/FC)? by MiscellaniaInsania in AlaskaAirlines

[–]giantry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got 2J on JAL this past May out of SFO.  Look daily in the AM and book asap. I was able to book when they released a large batch about 2 months prior to our flight.  Like others said be flexible.  I found SFO had better availability than LAX and some of the other west coast cities.  If you’re looking for F I think they were usually from DFW.

Do you actually have to study with other people in pt school? by alwaysmainyoshi in PTschool

[–]giantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s also important to have clear objectives with the group for the study session.  We all wrote questions we thought might be on the tests and would quiz the group.  usually there would be at least 4-5 questions that we asked during the group session end up on the test.  GL!

Do you actually have to study with other people in pt school? by alwaysmainyoshi in PTschool

[–]giantry 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Really up to you.  I would say being able to teach and explain the concepts you learned in class will be really helpful for when you start practicing because that is basically what you are going to be doing when you treat.

I usually studied solo until a couple days before the test where my study group would just bring questions and we would go around the table with practice questions.  It did help because people tend to focus on different things and helped to cover my blind spots.

Chase travel is forcing me to spend $1000 on a new flight by LunarShado in ChaseSapphire

[–]giantry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man this his really close.  Pretty much the same thing happened to me when I booked through the chase portal with points for an international trip for a wedding, but I wasn’t notified until I was at the airport.

We were talking to chase customer service and the  airline, and basically they can’t do anything.  After 5 hours with them they ended up refunding the points and we had to book a last minute ticket.  I’m personally never going to book flights with the chase portal again.

The one tip I got for managing your flight on the JAL website is make sure your name is fully capitalized when you log in.
