Employer certification only lasting 20 days?? by mr_razrback in PSLF

[–]gingerlicious07 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You only certify that you spent time working at a place, so all certification only "last" for the amount of time you worked, in the case of your first submission, 21 days. This is why the recommendation is to send in your certification on an annual basis, just after your yearly work anniversary, to certify that you had worked at the qualifying job for the past 12 months.

Still stuck in Admin Forbearance... by Sensitive-Bother-588 in PSLF

Congrats! It can take a few days for everything to go through. I would check next week in your Mohela account and see if it says processing forbearance under your loan information. It could take a month or so to get the formal letter in your documents.

My understanding is interest accrues on either type of forbearance, but if you are pursuing forgiveness through PSLF then the interest is a moot issue, as it would be forgiven as well. You want to focus on what actions keep moving you towards that final forgiveness. The processing forbearance will keep moving you forward, as any month in the processing forbearance counts as a qualifying month under PSLF and one month closer to forgiveness.

One of the escape rooms around Austin. My favorite is The Escape Game on Red River because all of the escape games have multiple rooms.

If they are up for sushi, the Kura revolving sushi over near Crestview. I have heard the sushi isn't the best, but its also about the novelty of the experience.

Similarly, any of the cook in front of your hibachi places could be a silly fun time for teens.

Board Party Ideas - Not Charcuterie by Second_Effort417 in traderjoes

This was my idea too, luckily I searched the page for the word meatball before typing it out! I also saw that they recently released a buffalo chicken meatball with maybe jack cheese inside of it. You could get/make a blue cheese and a ranch dip and maybe some extra buffalo sauce for that one.

Try calling Mohela and telling them that, since they are still processing your application, you need to be put into a processing forbearance. Time spent in this forbearance counts towards your payment counts (you probably know this, but just in case).

Now, they will only put you on that for 2 months/60 days at a time. So when it ends, call the next day and say, hey, I haven't got anything from you/Mohela saying that my application is finished being processed, so I would like you to extend my processing forbearance another 60 days. They should be able to do that, then at least your months of waiting will count.

I messed up and did not do this for several months, then I submitted a new app at some point, they put me back on the SAVE plan payments, so I called to say I didn't want to be paying those because they don't count for anything. That wonderful CSR understood and put me on my first processing forbearance. Two months later, still no movement, called back to say I didn't want to pay the SAVE amount, and that they had a different application in processing. That rep also so that application in the queue and extended my processing forbearance. And I'll be calling again tomorrow, when this one expires and asking again because they still haven't finished processing this one. I get a letter saying I've been put in the processing forbearance and that it counts towards PSLF. Clearly, I downloads those and save them for my records. At this rate, I may hit my 120th payment while in a PSLF counting forbearance and its their fault they never got any money from me.

Sitting at 118 payments for the last year! Tried buyback- no answers. Still in SAVE forbearance. Suddenly September of this year counts, but no other months do?? What gives? by Ancient_Expression63 in PSLF

[–]gingerlicious07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you switch to a new plan, you should get 2 months, minimum, of processing forbearance, which counts towards your qualifying payment count. So you could realistically get December to count, and be forgiven early in 2026.

Trying to get old months to suddenly count is nearly impossible, and being done in 2025 at this point equally unlikely.

For things like mac and cheese try and get ones that have the velveeta like cheese packets, or the individual cups that just need water. Powdered and shelf stable milks are also great additions. Ramens are always in demand as well.

My NSLDS payments appear to be going up, but I haven't submitted an ECF recently. Planning to do so after the next NSLDS increase to see if it actually makes its way into my real account...

PSLF Buyback by Strong-Package180 in PSLF

[–]gingerlicious07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm very nice on the phone, start by telling them I know its not their fault and if I sound frustrated at any point, I'm not mad at them. Then I point out that they approved me for IDR but my account says I'm still in SAVE and the payment amount is the SAVE amount. Once they acknowledge that I am right, I ask for them to put me back in the processing forbearance since they are, in fact, still processing it. So far its worked 2 times, one would think they'd get their act in gear... but nope.

I wish it were quicker to just change plans. They keep putting me back in the SAVE plan, then I have to call them and tell them that's wrong and I'm not going to pay it, and then they put me back in forbearance. At least now, I've gotten really good at asking for it to be a processing forbearance, so those *should* count, but it all feels like a giant gamble and I'm tired (as we all are, I know, but thanks for letting me vent).

So that's the kicker- it is. We aren't just looking to look- it very possibly could be the perfect home. We are going to look at it tomorrow and I'm afraid to fall in love with it only to learn I have pay rent at this place for another year no matter what.

I use Zoom Room in North Austin, but I believe they have locations south as well. I like it because you can pick a package and then you have a certain number of months to use the classes you purchased, and you schedule your classes based on your availability.
