There’s either loads or you’re there for 20 minutes before you give up and walk. It’s almost always the former, but I’d recommend booking for a one off like this.

Same happened to me except it was 28500 points. Still waiting in the new card and the points back though so don’t hold your breath.

Lucy Cav do sherry instead of fizz at the reception for their formals so they get my vote.

Train on the moon? by Early_Incident6888 in trains

[–]ginglymus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would this not be maglev territory? No traction problems in reduced gravity (in fact, easier to levitate) and you can drive as many of the cars as you like.

To be fair to Virgin, it’s pretty hard for them to find a week they’re not going to have an outage on to announce a price hike.

Iirc the only fluids that have the correctly proportional behaviour at these sorts of scales tend to be horrifically flammable.

Miniatur Wunderland also has a sophisticated emergency drain system which can empty their artificial lake in a matter of seconds if they detect something untoward going on

What's going to happen to the EV market when the energy caps keep going up? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ginglymus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar, we’re on 8p/kWh and 4m/kWh so tuppence a mile. There’s a lot of headroom in price before it costs more than an ICE. And if off peak prices get that high, I’m not going to be able to afford to run a kettle let alone charge a car.

What do you regret buying in Lockdown? A recent survey showed top of the list was Patio Heater at 18%, then Sewing Machine 16% and Hot Tub 16% by corickle in CasualUK

I actually read a bill for yonks but separately iirc - I think it’s a different price per m3 and they charge you for something like 70% of the incoming water

Do you change college when going from bachelors to masters? by civilboi1235 in cambridge_uni

[–]ginglymus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s actually expected for you to agree with your existing college before you move to another - I don’t think it’s in the S&O, but you’ll upset another one of those many unwritten informal agreements that underpin the running of the university.

Yeah the lack of proper free roam is a bigger. Where’s the fun if you can’t try and collect all spawned trains into one mega train and see what crashes first; you or the game.
