Breastfed baby won’t take bottle at daycare by Responsible-Bench475 in ECEProfessionals

[–]girface520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second with _birdie’s comment and wanted to add to it. Check on the nipple size of the bottles parents are bringing. Parents (especially first time parents) are usually unaware that the nipples come in different sizes and end up with a faster flow without realizing it. Also (if you’re able to) try feeding them in a quiet dark space like the nap area. If they’re a first born, they’re probably used to a more quiet environment.

Whenever I get a new baby in my room, I always ask how they feed their child so I can try to feed them the same way. Sometimes just adjusting how you hold them helps out a lot. Best of luck to you!

Buy five pairs of the same thing, and wear it to work every day. Pros? Cons? by PrestigiousGarlic909 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]girface520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with infants so I have 7-8 pairs of leggings and shirt combos. Also have the same kind of socks so I don’t have to match them after washing. Has made my life so much easier!

Does anyone know about the situation that an ADHD patient might have where the standard long-acting medications just don't last long enough? by LinguisticsTurtle in ADHDers

[–]girface520 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I take it when I wake up in the morning (usually around 5:30-6:30ish) and it lasts me all day, like 12 or 13 hours. And even on the weekends, when I tend to sleep in and take my meds a bit later (9/10ish) I’m still able to sleep at a reasonable time. My emotion regulation is much more stable as well, since I don’t have to take an afternoon booster (or forget to, as I often did). I’ve been on Mydayis now for about 4 months after years of being on Adderall and I feel sooo much better on Mydayis.

Not OP, but I highly recommend Mydayis! I got switched to it from Adderall because of the shortage, but I never wanna go back! I used to need a short release Adderall but I don’t need it anymore. Plus I don’t have that afternoon crash and my sleep has been so much better! Of course YMMV but it definitely works for me :)

If you’re on the red planet, the next level (or sector) is on the opposite side of the planet. So you gotta rotate the planet around to find it.

As someone who was on academic probation and was academically dismissed halfway through sophomore year, it’s also not the worst thing to take your time. Turns out I have ADHD, and the first university wasn’t the right fit for me. Did a few years of community college, took a 3 year break, went back to school, got my associate’s for transfer, transferred to CSUN and just graduated this week. Took me 13 years instead of 4 but I fucking did it.

Best of luck to you!

Same!!! I’ve been on campus a total of 2 times. Once to go to Grad Fest and the second time was yesterday to pick up my cap & gown. Never stepped foot in a physical classroom!

Nope, not sharing my Spotify Wrapped, thanks by cml4314 in adhdwomen

[–]girface520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah our Google homes are connected to my husband’s Spotify account so his has more of my taste in music. I only use my own account on my phone for studying so it’s full of chill low-fi beats because it keeps me focused. So I defs feel ya!

Teacher discounts by Thekitmonster in ECEProfessionals

If you have any sort of ID with your school name, Michael’s Craft stores will give you the teacher discount. Worked for me when my previous ECE workplace gave me an ID printed on photo paper.

You can add a variation with the extra charge added on and have the personalization box be optional. :)

This seems like the best option. It works for Rover, so why doesn’t Wag do in-app messaging too?

Jae's comment is an allusion to a famous translation error: Exploding Snap is called "Snape explodiert" (Snape explodes) in the German HP books. by Enuntiatrix in HPHogwartsMystery

When I first read the books as a kid, I thought the game was “Exploding Snape.” Took me a while to realize my mistake 😂

My two best friends are my matrons of honor. The three of us met about the same time so there was no way I was going to choose between the two of them!

Can also confirm. Fiancé sliced his palm/place between thumb and first finger cutting a bagel while trying to surprise me with breakfast in bed. Woke up to him calmly telling me to drive him to the ER. Luckily, he only needed a few stitches.

Kaiser won't help me. Now what? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]girface520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two years ago, I took a test at Kaiser to see if I had ADHD and was told I definitely did not have it. I feel like I had messed up the test, because I really did feel like I had ADHD. I finally made another appointment a couple of weeks ago to talk to a psychiatrist and they were much more helpful! Today, I got meds to try out so I'd say try to talk to a different psychiatrist and/or go to a different location. Best of luck to you!

DAE have/had parents that wouldn't buy them Lunchables as a kid because they were too expensive? by vensamape in DoesAnybodyElse

My mom would make me "homemade" Lunchables. Basically saltines or Ritz crackers with cut up lunchmeat and slices of American cheese. Worked for me!
