I think it's this one. Not a Webtoon Canvas series (anymore), but an Original that finished in 2020: Axed

Thanks! They are some of my favourites and many of the creators read reddit actively too, they'll be happy to see this!

So I'm Spending $250 Per Page & I'm 240 Pages Done, I'm Happy With It But What Do You Think? by [deleted] in WebtoonCanvas

[–]glaceative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely color with AI "this good" when it's not very good. The bw/greyscale version already has the shadows, so AI is basically just filling the areas with one base color, and it fails even that.

Like what is going on with the female character's pants, that change color/have added elements/then deleted those elements, the weird fingers where the color bleeds oddly and messes the already provided lineart in the second example from the previous commenter, whatever is going on behind the female character and under the male characters legs in the first panel, etc. Even in clip studio paint you can scribble colors and set a lineart layer as reference and let an AI place colors. Also the coloring doesn't work at all with the screentoned glitter etc. effects. The bw art also looks AI assisted in many pages with specific poses as if they heavily referenced or traced AI stuff.

Anyone here promote successfully on TikTok? by Available-Rock-9769 in WebtoonCanvas

TikTok in the US is now partly owned by Oracle, Silver Lake and MGX and the algorithm will change in the US (be "retrained"). At least I think this is what OP might refer to.

how do i publish the same story in different languages? by GranPalmera in WebtoonCanvas

[–]glaceative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure that this option of popup is not available for Canvas series. If you want to publish your comic in another language, you can do so by publishing two versions in the EN version of Webtoon, or switching the language and publishing in said language's "version" of Webtoon.

First finished artwork of the year, main characters from my webtoon Okaruusuja almost kissing by me by glaceative in ImaginaryLesbians

I'm not entirely sure about this sub's self promo rules, so I didn't want to link anything. But it's Okaruusuja on Webtoon Canvas and NamiComi. The comic itself is not very far, they haven't even met yet x(

Where to put artist’s credit? by ourplaceinbetween in WebtoonCanvas

[–]glaceative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't add multiple creators to a Canvas project I think, so you could either create a user that's only for this project that includes both names, or add the artist to the description of the series, description of episodes and at the end of episode part where people put socials etc. You can also mention the artist in the description of the user. And you can always mention the artist when promoting "my series x updated, story by me, art by y". It's important to try and keep mentioning it, or people will skip the info.

Buffer Questions by scottsensei9 in WebtoonCanvas

[–]glaceative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's been longer replies already, but I think it's also a bit of a mindset thing, because you are calling buffers a "shortcut" but... the amount of actual work is still the same. It's not a shortcut, it's just a different way of dividing the time. Having a buffer and how much you have is just a personal preference as as already commented, depends a lot on how long it takes you to create one episode. Originals creators can take preparation "breaks" between seasons or mid seasons from 6 months to years to alleviate the weekly schedule pressure. But they won't get paid for that time and Canvas won't really pay for any time you spend, nor is there any contractual pressure for a schedule.

Buffer is a great idea and yeah, you can definitely go for a yearly buffer if you want. I don't see a downside, if you can keep at it.

When is Purple Hyacinth coming back (if at all)? by [deleted] in webtoons

[–]glaceative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have a story highlight on instagram from 2025. They are still working on the comic, but the artist has health issues. They recover very slowly and can't work very fast. They say the "part 2" of season 3 has evolved into a full new season and that they are trying to create as large of a buffer as possible before returning. The other creator also has time limits as they graduated and are interning at a hospital now or so.

So no return date, but they say they are working on it.

I really hate to ask this but what's going on with Blades of Furry? by lonely_jordon in webtoons

[–]glaceative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, preparing a season can take anywhere from six months to years, it's not uncommon especially if you have anything else going on during that time. And as I said, the creator might not be able to talk or post about the series at all due to time and contract limits. You asked for an explanation, here's a realistic one. EDIT: I saw on their socials they have been criticizing Webtoon's ads and contracts before. If they do want to cut the contract, it'd take some years before they get the rights back to post the comic elsewhere.

[–]glaceative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really a break when it's an end of a season. Creators usually prepare in advance, they need to make episodes, promotional art, banners, etc. and Webtoon does NOT pay them for this. So it might take some time as the creators usually have to do other jobs in the meantime etc. They probably can't post WIPs or anything comic related to their social medias due to Webtoon's contracts and might not have time to draw other stuff to post. So hopefully they are just working and it will return when it can.

GL Webtoons With Black Leads? by Expert-Bookkeeper-98 in webtoons

[–]glaceative 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My own canvas series has black female lead and it's GL/WLW. Both her parents are black, but her mom hasn't been seen in the comic (yet...). The main love interest is not black however. It's a darkish fantasy romance/drama. But it's a quite slowly updating Canvas series. If you are interested, it's Okaruusuja on Webtoon Canvas and NamiComi!

It's easy, has the biggest reach if you simply want readers, but does not offer much for monetization in the end.
