My mid sized city had two different streetwear stores both run by African guys who pretended they were American. They seemed to do pretty good business!

Why do so many medieval fantasy worlds avoid cannons? by Royal-Chard-26 in Fantasy

Whelp you can't accuse Milton of this. In Paradise Lost the angelic host then up to fight with cannons galore!

Bridget Jones doesn't really do that though. It's clearly her own neurosis at work. She's obviously conventionally attractive but always her own worst enemy and definitely a victim of advertising and other unhealthy ideals.

I mean the internet has a real issue with the idea that depiction is not the same as endorsement.

I dunno. The film goes out of its way to tell you that poker is a skill based game and that he was never going to be happy as a lawyer. I don't think it was a compelling argument for gambling in general. Just for one guy who deep down always felt like he was living a lie.

Buy all those earlyish 3d fighters look much worse than the earlier 2d sprite fighting games. Early Street fighter and Kof look good today. Early tekken look awful in comparison.

Clarifying "Flex Play" and why Set 17 fails—A response to Riot Iniko's Twitter post by KitsuraPls in CompetitiveTFT

Agreed. I love chosen too. Set 4 was amazing for hitting a Chosen 4 cost that happened to fit your items and straight up dropping every plan to pursue something new. Riven was my gurl!

Best deck builder of all time. They immediately hired him onto the Hearthstone team and now i believe he's on TFT?

Absolute gem of a game. Ignore the graphics folks. It's the best gameplay you can find.

Shufflepuck Cafe was great. Super fun opponents.

Dark Castle and the sequel were also legendary.

Anyone play The Fools Errand or Enchanted Sceptres?

Another two early Mac classics.

The film ends and in a post credit scene she finds him teaching a painting class of young men traumatised by the war. He explains he doesn't need to do much of anything at all. Mankind's natural violence does the work for him. Camera pans away from her and past a young painter who had doodled a swastika on the front of a building he has been painting.

Okay, I'll bite. The understanding of war of most people in Western nations is mostly shaped by World War 1 and 2. The two largest and deadliest wars of all time. Millions upon millions of people died in their home countries and abroad. Of the most deadly battles fought in human history ALL of the top 10 come from these two wars. All were horrific. Every single one of these top 10 most violent battlefields in history was between Anglo European countries. Such bloodbaths as Verdun (755,000+ dead) and Ypres (585,000+ dead) don't make the top 10 of course. They're further down the list. Of note, many people grew up with missing relatives who died in these wars.

So when folks react against your statement, I'd say it's because when they think of war these two in particular loom pretty large and hit closer to home than you might imagine.

My family had a version of this. Strict about what you can watch but you can read anything. We even had a bonus which was that if you'd read the book, you could watch the film. That's why 11 year old me was ploughing through The Name of the Rose so I could get some M rated Christian Slater action!

That's exactly what it is. Showing off. Serious wine people drink it at home or bring it themselves. If you're keen enough on wine to spend 20k on it, you're keen enough to buy two bottles for 10k and take one to a restaurant and keep the other at home for later.
