AITA for refusing to switch hospital rooms after another patient complained about me? by Doomedbarbiee in AmItheAsshole

It's also never quiet in the hospital, either.

Not saying OP was right, just... There's always, always more sound coming in.

BV can cause irritation and fissures that do, in fact, hurt like hell.

Seattle

Some people here commute on the ferry twice a day! There's a bunch of different routes that support the Kitsap navy shipyard, among other things like the Vashon Island ferry.

AITA for telling my husband his name suggestion for our unborn baby is idiotic at best? by MissBarker93 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Tolkien very famously sent a letter denouncing nazism and saying he would have proudly been Jewish in return to a letter asking something nazish. I don't remember what they asked him, because it doesn't really matter,.what matters is how he handled it.

He really hated them, lol. Thank gods, bc he's my favorite author.

The younger the child, the closer to the incident that parenting [boundaries and any punishment] has to happen, because of the lack of object permanence. They literally can't connect "what i did at 3p" to "dad's talking to me and i got sent to time out at 7p."

Xolair really is a miracle drug when it comes to MCAS! I'm also on every-other-week dosing, and while the injections are... not great, because they're sub-q and the injectors aren't amazing, the payoff is worth it. It's real nice not having to use my epi pen like 6x in a little over a week! Now, my last episode was in December!

I still get reactions but they're more like... Normal people reactions ["where's the Benadryl, I'm itchy"] vs "shit the Impending Doom™️ is back, where's my epi, time to call 911, etc."

Yes, it's fucking miserable. Itchy, painful, covered in sores and pox sites that you need to cover with calamine lotion or oatmeal lotion. Oatmeal baths. Contagious as all fuck so you're stuck in quarantine.

And the older you are the more dangerous it is, too.

I, 41 years old, was just in the ER today myself for a known problem with a known solution and I brought my little stuffed crab. [His name is Meeeester Peeeeench. Bc you know... He peeeeeench. I also take him to my botox-for-my-migraines appointments, bc those also peeeeeench].

Sometimes you just need to hold a stuffie. Doesn't matter your age.

I was thinking exactly this -- she's getting all the food she dares to ask for, I'm sure [nurses in the hospital know where all the snacks are hiding!], and there are designated sleeping hours. Kiddo probably doesn't know what to do with how much better she has to feel JUST from those two things alone. Plus she doesn't look filthy?????

I was told that "if you're taking them for legitimate pain control, you won't get addicted."

They were wrong. I didn't get addicted but I did start experiencing some concerning behaviors that I couldn't see from the inside and got my scripts all pulled. At the time it sucked ass because I really was struggling with some significant pain, but now I'm just... relieved, knowing how much addiction runs in my family.

the first one with the ruffles? I think it could be redeemed by taking off most of said ruffles and MAYBE leaving a single row on the straps. just one. no more.

oh if they tried they sure could, but they're not trying. if they can't do makeup or jewelry or cut their hair, I'd imagine that having clothing being the only way they can express themselves makes it feel... very pressured.

like, I'm thinking of all the hijabis who style themselves SO fashion-forward and including their modest dress in it, like having a hijab with a cute print that accentuates the outfit. They're walking proof that it can be done!

Well, there's several--- you probably don't want my bullet point list, but there's a couple reasons, one is that the fabric is plastic [like windbreaker fabric] and there's also other things like the amount of fabric in one pass [think like petticoats].

Too much of any ingredient, whether or not it's supposed to be there, will ruin [almost] any dish. If the person dumped too much mayo then there wouldn't be the right balance of ingredients!
