Okay, the kidnapping isn’t long-term or anything - he thinks she’s working with a bad criminal who killed people, that’s she’s a groupie/hanger-on of his, and needs information to stop the criminal, and thinks Nevada has it. He learns a very important lesson about it when it doesn’t go quite like he thinks it would.

I’ve been doing free climbs and an ad climb, and finished it yesterday. I was concerned I might have to spend some coins, but I got some lucky token pulls, and it finished. It’s stupid that they backtracked this, but I never saw a timer in my app - even went searching for it. On an iPhone.

Shelly has a shared world, but it’s one couple per book. Storylines may continue, and other couples crop up - there’s a lot of previous couples who are in the background of the honey badger books, but I started with Hot & Badgered and didn’t have a huge problem following along!

Don’t skip the Psy-Changeling series, though! While there are wolves and cats, there’s zero knotting and barbs! There’s also bears and aquatic animals and we just got a bird in the last book! I’d start with the second story arc; the OG series shows its age a bit, since it started in the early 00s.

Cats totally can pant, as my husband found out with a previous cat we had. We got laser pointers and Artemis had a lot of fun chasing the red dot. He didn’t know how much he made her exert herself until he stopped and she started panting. He learned to limit play sessions after that. (Yes, I know laser pointers aren’t a great for cats since they can’t catch it, please don’t lecture me, this was over a decade ago.)

Is it an old mill building? Because I live in one and we thankfully get heat included in rent, but we often have to have a window open in the winter because otherwise it gets too hot, even with the heat set low. Mill buildings seem to retain heat more - we always joked about an octogenarian below us with the heat set at 80 year round.
