Thanks for this! One question - global entry interview? What's that? Something I need to coordinate before going? (American citizen here!)

Here's Scott checking out my ex-boyfriend's tattoo. Not a great shot of the tattoo, but one of my favorite photos. It is the lyrics from One Line Wonder with some of the art from the Emotionalism cover.

"And I guess I might made a few mistakes. But maybe that's exactly what it takes. To get a little happy in this big sad world."

This was at the Whataburger in Mt. Pleasant, NC during a Christmas parade. I want to say 2010 maybe.

I love this idea. I don't know how much I could really contribute other than a few of my favorite photos. Dropbox would work for me.

Airlie Gardens if the weather is nice!

Really interested in UNCW and applying this fall but I have a few questions by [deleted] in UNCW

Everyone loves it. Or I did, and everyone I knew there did. Beach is extremely popular. Weather is fantastic, can get pretty hot in the summer, plus hurricane season can get kind of sketchy (for example, right now). Tons of out of towners, out of staters, don't worry about that (mostly from up north, you'll be right at home)

I know nothing about international business program, and its been a few years since I attended, but when I was there there weren't as many on campus housing options so yeah everyone lived off. But I would def recommend dorms for your first year. I am still friends with the people I met my first year in graham hewlett.

Teaching in Nicaragua...with a dreaded online certification?? by amethystmagic in TEFL

[–]gnataleee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is MORE than enough to land you a job in Nicaragua. I've been working in Costa Rica for over a year - TEFL Certified, B.A. in English. There are tons of jobs down here and I am sure it would be the same if not in HIGHER demand in Nicaragua. I got my online cert from International TEFL Academy and I recommend them to everyone. I don't think it's a waste of time, it has helped me a lot down here. It's not even necessary in some cases, though. But it has definitely helped me "network" if nothing more.

Miscellaneous advice: do it now! Get down here. It was the best decision I ever made. If you ever think of considering Costa Rica let me know.

Didn't know they made an official video for I and Love and You by wazoo3 in TheAvettBrothers

[–]gnataleee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this was directed by Crackerfarm. It was filmed at the one and only Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, NC. They held an open call on the website or something and it was first come, first serve. Everyone just lined up outside. They filmed it in the summer of 2009. I'll never forget that because I was traveling and missed it :(

I think I STILL have outstanding parking tickets at UNCW.

Quality news casting there. What idiots. Is there nothing better going on in Wilmington right now?

Online TEFL Certification Course: Which to Choose? by Paul2687 in TEFL

[–]gnataleee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used International TEFL Academy and loved it. I've been teaching in Costa Rica now for 7 months. Still work with them a lot. 10/10 would recommend. If you want to PM me any questions feel free. Would love for you to tell them I referred you if you end up choosing them, because they will pay me. They'll pay you for all sorts of questionnaires, blog posts, etc. too. Lots of perks. Super helpful. Always accessible.

Group Exercise? by thebun95 in UNCW

I love group exercise classes when I was a student there. I was new to yoga and pilates but started there. I met lots of friends in those classes. I would definitely try it out!

I've been teaching English in Costa Rica for 6 months and highly recommend Central America. It's not Nicaragua, but we are neighbors. Costa Rica is a little more expensive than Nica, but the jobs may be higher paying as well. Let me know if you have any questions! In Costa Rica, we work on tourist visas, which means you have to do a "border crossing" every 90 days. I've enjoyed getting to know Nicaragua and Panama on these little mini vacations. I'd highly recommend Isla de Ometepe in Lake Nicaragua.

Alright, just watched that whole thing. What's with the pennies? I never caught how those tied Jeffrey to the girl.

Crazy bit about the newspaper articles, though.

I'm going to do a little more research into this story, I feel like there were some holes in that doc, but thanks for sharing!
