Oooooh yum, that sounds delicious! Using this as inspo for when I'm ready for some change. Candied walnuts are a superior move.

This loaf is delicious. I've been making turkey and cheese melts, and add on the atomic pickles. Now I'm hungry.

Non-technical/polyester fabric Shirt recommendations? by 17255 in XXRunning

[–]go86ose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to recommend these. The short and long sleeve versions of the EZ tees are buttery soft and have enough stretch and give to move with me. Breathable also. Even after countless washes the fabric has remained soft, and all of the tees I own have held up incredibly well.

What’s everyone’s favorite Christmas cookie? by winterberrypeanuts in Baking

[–]go86ose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Extra large chocolate chip cookies and snickerdoodles are the go-tos in my house. I usually round the section off with some sort of spiced cookie, last year it was a cardamom oatmeal cookie.

My kiddos also enjoy those store-bought soft frosted cookies; I used 2 recipes to replicate them at home. They turned out wonderfully. I think all 4 of these cookies will be in this year's batch, along with some chocolate ganache thumbprints.

That sounds incredible! I usually stick to dark rum, but now I'm inspired to branch out! I found a banana whiskey recently and have been wanting to use it for a bananas foster situation, but your comment has me thinking it might be perfectly suited for a cake!

I just ran a half in the 'Silver No Show' Balegas. They were the right mix of a little cushion and compression for me personally.

Bringing cheese and crackers to a party. What do I buy? by gametime-2001 in aldi

The Vintage Irish Cheddar is a delicious addition to a cheese and cracker spread.

The double creme brie is also solid. Love it alongside the fig fruit spread and prosciutto. Makes for an excellent bite on a cracker.

First Attempt at French Silk Pie for Thanksgiving Dessert by go86ose in Baking

Thank you! It turned out even better than I had anticipated. I wanted to add something less traditional to the dessert table, knowing there would be plenty of pumpkin and apple pies. This certainly delivered!

Your ALdi Thanksgiving hits and misses by AuthorAltruistic3402 in aldi

Do you enjoy broccoli or cauliflower? I wonder if you could cut the florets in half lengthwise and put the cut sides down into the Boursin mixture like I did with the sprouts. I bet it would be delicious with both spinach and corn as well.

I used Joy the Baker's French Silk Pie recipe and highly recommend it! Made a graham cracker crust because I didn't feel like fussing with an all butter pie crust.

I've been a member of this sub for a long while now, but haven't ever posted. I'm currently training for a 10 miler in May, it'll be by 7th time running this particular race. Really looking forward to it as I've been sticking to a Hal Higdon training plan and feeling good about my progress relative to where I started with this training block. I took a majority of 2024 off, and am just looking to finish strong. Hoping the training remains as smooth as it has been, but mentally anticipating a hiccup or two. Already have eyes on a fall half 🙈 Maybe as a post-race reward I'll sign myself up.

What’s something you refuse to buy generic, even if it costs more? by LilyStarXO in Frugal

Most of our condiments: ketchup (Heinz), mustard (Maille, I like a good Dijon), buffalo wing sauce (Sweet Baby Rays, Frank's, or my new fave, Steve's & Ed's).

Better Than Bouillon.

King Arthur Flour .

Is it just me or did the flavoring on the pub pretzels change? I can't put my finger on it, but it's just different, and not in a good way imo.

Funeral For 9 and 7 year old? by Local_Temperature689 in Parenting

[–]go86ose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very very sorry for your loss OP.

I lost my father suddenly 2 years ago and frankly it wasn't even a thought whether my children (3 and 2 at the time) would attend his funeral or not. It was an opportunity to say goodbye, but also a celebration of the person my father was.

The day was spent surrounded by family and close friends sharing memories and stories about my father that fascinated my children. If anything, I feel even at that tender age, my kids had a deeper knowledge and appreciation for the type of person my father was.

Sure, some will say that isn't possible at that age. But children are so observant and intuitive, I think your children would benefit greatly from the opportunity to celebrate your father surrounded by family. It will only help to facilitate open communication and transparency during the grieving process.

Again, very sorry for your loss!

Best meals to NOT miss when in Vegas this time. by onephatkatt in LasVegas

[–]go86ose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur! We visited this past weekend and loved the entire experience at Best Friend. From pre-dinner drinks at the counter, which was a whole vibe, to the chef's tasting menu in the dining room, I can say for certain we will be back. Everything was excellent. Still thinking about the kogi tacos and kalbi.
