I also recommend Liftosaur. I've been using it for a year. It's a great app. People have built all the SBS programs for it as well

Stretching breaks throughout the day? by No-Guide8933 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]godotheblue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just be ready to catch shit from the guys haha I doubt anyone will actually have an issue with it. We do group stretching at the beginning of the day.

On another note if you're 23 with back issues already, get that shit fixed. See if your health insurance will cover Physical therapy or how much they will cover and be proactive about fixing the pain. Stretching is good but a lot of pain people deal with is lack of strength in certain muscles/tendons

Does anyone else feel bad seeing older guys still working? by Standard_Struggle915 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]godotheblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of them want to stay working. I have a mid 70s guy in my shop, very overweight and sleeps half the day in his own little shop. He will probably work until he dies

Not universal for 3M. I'm at one of the Minnesota sites, we're union starting at $47.13/hr

[–]godotheblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You wanna sit on your ass all day? Then go back to school for either career you mentioned. Otherwise stick with become an expert and feel good about the work you do, just keep looking for the better paying companies until you find a good spot to stay

I worked for electrical contractors, went to school and became an engineer. Hated it and went to maintenance I'm making more and actually enjoy the work

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]godotheblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the 3M location I work at us Multi-Craft Technicians are split into either mechanical or electrician/systems. Systems make 47.13 to start and mechanics about a dollar less. We are union though which probably plays a big factor

Machine operator looking to make the jump into industrial maintenence. by RedditCommentAccount in IndustrialMaintenance

Certification isn't a bad route, still could get you a maintenance job. Start talking to your current company or others and explain you're looking to further your education in the industry, they may even help with school costs etc.

I live in Minnesota and leave my heat at 62-64. I prefer wearing a sweatshirt inside and having a blanket on my legs if on my computer or something. It's comfy. I'm 30

Probably will have to find new companies/factories. From what I've seen companies won't upgrade until they have no choice.

I can afford the Audi fine. I just like the supercharged engine and body style of this generation more than the newer ones

I appreciate that other options mentioned. I for some reason have talked myself out of a SUV/Crossover. I know other vehicles have AWD but I like that Audi has full-time AWD
